  1. About 8 to 9 cm here in Chartham hills near Canterbury. Still building with heavy showers. Can't seem to upload photo as file size too large. Will try later
  2. ? 1 to 2 metres would be fab!! Heavy here in the hills above Chartham. Getting on for 4cm
  3. First post for ages! Actually that fax chart is not the full story. If you look within this site at the 3 fax charts going out 24 hours apart ( I think it is) then you see that convergence zone wobble north to south a bit almost down towards south coast at one point so I think everyone's in with a shout. I say that because a pure Thames streamer will disappoint some and there may be some sad faces otherwise!
  4. Absolutely right! (Please note those in East Kent posting what an abysmal part of the world etc etc) when we get conditions like matt points out then Essex / East Kent often sweetspot. This set up, I say again, wasnt for us. Brilliant pics btw those with snow!
  5. Not sure how up to date, or even if I've got the relevance of this right, but the 850 upper wind direction for midnight shows maybe why there appears to be more of a shunt east than was first thought
  6. I think it's probably down to watching it really close to the event, but then not forgetting to look out of the window!
  7. Well if that comes about that shifted things quite a bit further east with marginality from about W Sussex westwards,. If indeed it peps up enough as it's all a bit weak at the moment
  8. Dew point -2.5 and temp 0.2 so we're going to get a decent frost even if no snow
  9. Im keeping my eye on radar which sadly as some have already pointed out seems to show ppn fizzling out just north of Northampton as it moves across and down, although pepping up not impossible.
  10. Youre all in the sweetspot Surrey / Hampshire photos from you guys tomorrow please!
  11. Right set up and it will! If this lot came further East then it could even go wrong side of marginal in that it would indicate a stronger Atlantic incursion. Right now though the frost and beautiful sun is lovely!
  12. But certainly in this part of East Kent for instance I wouldn't really expect anything from this sort of set up. If you go back and look at the situations that say in the last 10 years have led to significant snowfall in these parts, the majority have been from troughs and shower trains from the North Sea. So we should wish those in the West of region all good fun from this, and our turn will come, surely you remember 2010 and some years since Kent folk?
  13. Any chance we could get Amazon Prime to deliver snow on a next day delivery?
  14. On a positive note I wonder how much we'd need the HP system over us to shift just to allow a nice bit of sun rather than stratus gloom? I'm guessing if it sat right on top then it would drag in less murk from North Sea. If we get sun I'm off with dog to seaside!
  15. Yup. Easter with a glass of wine, at the outside table, gently warming through in an ever higher sun.....gosh I think I might be ready for Spring
  16. Much as I love snow I have to say by end March and into April I'm more on the hunt for those gentle warm, sunny Spring days...here's hoping
  17. North sea dropping off to sleep? I think I might as well a bit earlier tonight!
  18. From radar Looks to be quite a lot of snow inland of Calais towards Bolougne. Eurostar trip anyone? :-) ....wonder if we should invite them into this thread?!
  19. But breaking up at the moment as they head south. Maybe that'll change later on tonight?
  20. I programmed the herne bay offshore wind farm to turn around and help blow them in Daniel ;-)
  21. Though this time parts of Kent may join in the fun, according to radar, some flurries incoming soon.
  22. Bit of a surprise to me. Thought it would quieten right down. Must be a wee bit of instability out there. Probably just light flurries due in
