  1. Beast, I hope yours is a sign of things to come.... I'll be finding my way up sat otherwise! Lol
  2. It's going to be quite a ride I think..... I'm trying to not bounce of the walls lol!
  3. BBC weather forecasts seemed like an slight upgrade imby in Exeter! Right, now I know I ain't sleeping, I cnt miss this unfold.... Who of the hardcore peeps are with me for the long nite ahead?
  4. I tell you what this wind here is really picking up, strong gusts...... Excited lol
  5. so you guys with the experience & knowledge have been saying for the last few days that the models underestimate the strength of the cold blocks in these scenarios & everything gets backed west nearer the event (i understand this has happened!), question is do you think we have seen the end of the westward corrections or do you think there could be a little more of one in the 18z?
  6. ladies & Gents...... Exeter...... i hope? i want to see loads of photos by the morning guys!
  7. have close friends in the devon & cornwall constabulary who have just text me to say they have set up 'gold command' i guess they are really ramping up the concern, good for us enthusiasts however terrible for those who could do with out it!
  8. so guys, as it stands does anyone think that we might see a sustained snow event this far south & west? lots of contradictory thoughts (opinions) & maps lol.........
  9. right guys, a quick one for the more educated...... ill try and only ask once over the next couple of days as we will all be at it otherwise! from what i can make out here IMBY we might be lucky to get a couple hours of snow & then the rest of the event will be rain. correct? If the above is true and not an inflated opinion, how much of a westward or south westward movement of the undercutter will there need to be to be in with a greater chance of an all snow event, or is this just off the cards anyway? with the little i have learnt from you knowledgeable peeps (if im correct & looking at it right) me here in Exeter is right on the egde of marginal for 850 temps, ground temps, prevailing wind SSSE, & front ingress? other than this you can see like many of you i need to stop looking in here every ten minutes!!!!!! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
  10. i really hope that this shifts back west in the 12z's, just a bit more confidence. i think myself along with other would be gutted if we missed out on the snowiest weather in 30 years by 40 miles!the most snow i have witnessed here in exeter where i live was the 9" that was dumped on the 21st dec 2010 (i think)
  11. Iceberg, you clarification post in the MOD really made my morning browse more enjoyable this morning.....!!!!
  12. yes thats my idea of what one is, glad im not alone..... any advance on this would be good if were wrong?
  13. correct me if i am wrong.... all this talk of a 'slider low', i guessing when they say this that it is effectively the same as a channel low yeh?
  14. Wow I just spat my tea out lol..... What it would be like too witness that!
  15. Exeter seems right on the boundary, we usually don't do too bad, I have a little elevation at 100m so you never know..... Just in case we don't just make sure you all share some photos of yours lol
  16. one thing you learn is to never completely throw the towel in, i have been here a couple of years & have had the unexpected when it comes to snow. it also makes that much more enjoyable!
  17. very disappointing from a imby perspective (exeter), although looks real good for most of us down this end of the country & would be nice to see us have a snowfall that will eclipse anywhere else!
  18. what was it really like in exeter, where abouts were you living when it happened?
  19. could it be a repeat...... what a dream it would be (and a coincidence it would be, perhaps these guys have had a heads up!) http://www.thisisexeter.co.uk/Fifty-years-ago-snow-brought-West-standstill/story-17767295-detail/story.htmly.html
  20. It's is, were talking snizzle without the fog, won't even cover the motor windscreen as the showers seem to be dying away on radar!
  21. one occasion i remeber quite well was feb 09 i think, evryone had us forecasted for a rain event & i remeber it started snowing at like 6 oclock, watching the 6.30 news it also said we wouldnt have any snow even though it was hammering it down outside, took them a couple of hour too catch up & change what they were saying, i dont suppose there is any chance of a repeat lol? anyway snowing here for last half hour, very light and now just snizzle.... nice too just see it fall!
  22. hey guys, no chance of a repaet of february 1978 then, seems to me a novice that there are some simalarities, although more probably out of hope!?!?!?!?!?!
