  1. Didn't get anything from the low but did get a good spell between 4-5pm yesterday which caused a mass panic as it settled immediately and started accumulating very fast. Typical, It never snows when I have a day off (today) anyway back to work on Saturday through to Wednesday so bound to see more of the white stuff Had a blast watching the radar yesterday evening and following the forums and would like to thank the regulars for their input. I have not had this much fun for a while. So far we have had 1-2 cm but is thawing and most has now gone. Bring on the next event
  2. Moderate to Heavy snow in colchester for the past 30min or so. Settling very fast
  3. Had short spell of snow in colchester. currently dew point -1 and temp 2c. nice little surprise this morning
  4. Moderate snow here in Colchester. Light covering on cars, grass and roofs but roads still clear. Shocked considering how wet its been today.
  5. Current Met Office warning for Friday United Kingdom Snow Issued at: 1233 on Tue 15 Jan 2013 Valid from: 0900 on Fri 18 Jan 2013 Valid to: 2355 on Fri 18 Jan 2013 As the weather breaks down, there is the potential for a spell of snow to spread from the southwest. As winds strengthen, blizzard conditions are a possibility, especially over high ground. Accumulations of 2-5 cm are possible quite widely and in some locations, especially higher ground, 15 cm are possible. The public should be aware of the possibility of travel disruption. This warning is likely to be updated over the next few days.
  6. Really heavy snow now in Colchester. Settling really fast. Really could do with a day off.lol Going to call this the beast from the east. Absolutely chucking it down.
  7. Looks like the wraparound is starting to appear near Newcastle upon tyne. The PPN on the western flank is starting to move in a S/SW direction.
  8. Not long arrived back in Colchester after a trip to central London this morning. Have been playing cat and mouse with the snow front since lunch time trying to stay ahead of the front to make sure I got home without problems. First heavy sonw for me today was central london at around 12 midday. Heavy snow has just started here in Colchester.
  9. No. Look on the Net Weather V6 radar. Click on Europe view as its not currently showing on the UK view.
  10. In all the chaos, Has anyone noticed that big blob on the radar heading towards the east coast. looks like it will hit Essex/Kent coasts in the next few hours.
  11. I have 2 locations in my sig as I either stay in Kingston or Colchester depending on where I am working as my job covers Kent, Essex, Suffolk, Surrey and London. Due to snow affecting the whole region on Monday I will be heading to Colchester as I am working in Suffolk and Essex on Tuesday. Looking at the charts I expect trouble on the roads but hope to possibly get a day off and enjoy a bit of sledging. Charts for Monday from 1500 hours.
  12. Monday for me is going to be interesting but daunting at the same time. Got to work in Central London on Monday to replace 2 massive water heaters in a pub. I then have to travel back to Colchester which will happen during the rush hour when the snow is expected to arrive. Its a bad enough journey on a good day. If anyone is travelling Monday, Be safe and make sure to take provisions with you and plenty of warm clothing/Blanket and hot drink in your vehicle. I do believe that this will be a big event looking at the charts and it would be wise to be prepared.
  13. My aunt living in pembrokeshire in wales is reporting snowfall which has settled.
  14. Just looked outside to see that it snowing Have not checked the weather since the last snow event so this was a bit of a shocker. Anything siginificant to come? Cant check as dont have radar at the moment
  15. Hi all. Got about 5 to 6 inches here in colchester. Dogs are loving the snow and are constantly winging to go out and play.
  16. Going well here in colchester. Had more than expected so far. I would say about 7/10cm or about 3 inches. Wind really picked up earlier with near gales at times. have had a few heavy falls but no large snow flakes so only powder snow. Snow still going strong at the moment.
