  1. Looking at the radar and the speed of this frontal system. I would not be suppried if this was still around tomorrow afternoon.
  2. BBC weather website (Video) say snow, snow, snow for sat night into sunday. Heaviest accumulations to the SE of london with snow NOT turning back to rain.
  3. I think I am just going to wait till the weekend for when the cold/mild battle begins. With the highs and lows on here its difficault to make any prediction on any outcome. All I know for sure is that there will be battle between cold/mild towards the weekend. Will we get snow from this? I personally dont think so as in these setups the front usually never reaches the SE as it tends to fizzle out. But ultimately we wont know until that time comes but I am hoping that we do get some of the white stuff. Will the mild or cold win? Dont know but would appreciate any thoughts. There appears to be little chance of anything in the meantime, However I have noticed an increase in cloud formation out in the north sea so maybe that might give us something as it approaches. Im no expert so I will just keep an eye on the forum and check the radar every 6 hours or so and wait with anticipation for the next charts.
  4. dandruff snow in colchester at present. Getting heavier and wind is picking up. but nothing on radar. hmm.
  5. Checked here earlier after reports of light flurrys here and there. Just check again and wooooow. Now i need the 5min radar.
  6. Indeed. However I have been following it and since 9:30 and its northern edge has gained strength.
  7. Indeed, chances are slim but streamers have developed in the past. Wishfull thinking though.
  8. Shall keep an eye on its development and track over the next few hours. Fingers crossed.
  9. We go through this every year on here. Emotions with Highs and Lows. I would say that there will be a reasonable chance of snow anywhere in the southern half of the UK and it will be impossible for the met or anyone else to predict exactly where snow will fall. We may all be presantly supprised but on the otherhand could be a letdown for some. With such close margins its going to be a case of nowcasting and lampost watching and pure hope Does anyone remember the channel low a couple of years ago which approched through south wales and ended up affecting the whole of the southeast when it was only expected to get as far east as swindon. The peeps from kent should remember that one.lol
  10. Nice bit of info from the Met Office. They are going for a more southern track. Nice little video at the bottom. http://www.metoffice...y-and-unsettled
  11. Here is the MetO opinion for the end of the week. http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/news/releases/archive/2011/wintry-and-unsettled
  12. BBC have just released their forecast and its looking good. They are going for the low being further south.
  13. I am just hoping that the low gets further south so we can all get some of the white stuff. This winter will be intresting for me as I have to constantly commute between west london and colchester but if the weather does get bad then I can stay at either location. Will be waiting in anticipation for the latest charts. Hopefully both NAE and GFS will be in agreement on the position of the low.
