  1. Not on fully here to heat the house, however it's on for 15 minute bursts in the morning and evening .. About an hour total to heat the bathroom and dry towels .. Only one radiator comes on, the rest haven't kicked in yet to my knowledge
  2. Massive flakes like clumps of washing up bubbles falling now.... what an insane 15 minutes.....
  3. Amazing weather outside...... hail, thunder and everything is white out. Wind is very strong. Now we have sideways snow... cant tell if there's rain in it because its hitting my hand so strongly....
  4. Had a good spell of wet snow, gave us our best covering of this spell yet in the immediate location... Seems to be ice pellets now, no sign of any rain mixed in yet.
  5. Surprisingly happy with the overnight amount - totally unexpected for here. Had snizzle last night and only an icy slush on cars, woke up this morning and everything is white - not much accumulation but I'm not too bothered about that as long as things are all white and nice.
  6. It's just making the ground wet here. All I want is a covering and things to be white!! No luck yet this winter....
  7. Can't see it making much progress, the PPN seems to be stalling just south of Derby. The southern peaks will suck up anything that's remaining. Not expecting anything here anyway.
  8. Looking at the PPN accumulation charts its showing 1mm over 6 hours for most of the region. That could easily turn to nothing, today was forecast far more than that here and we got sod all. I'm watching it too, I would have been -5 and I'm enjoying it
  9. It's certainly looking good into next week in prolonging the old, ECM especially. Would have been nicer to go into it with more snow cover in this immediate area. Not sure about snow for here as that discussion thread tends to have an SE bias when snow is called. Does any site have ECM PPN charts available?
  10. cheers, will disable a few addons and see what happens.
  11. Hi, I keep getting booted from the site - it used to happen infrequently but at the moment it's happening every 5-10 minutes, it's almost as if the http service has stopped on the server. This is shown in the error page below. It's happening on the forums and radar.
  12. As you said earlier nowcasting is the word. I've seen many people refer to the simple web forecasts or even worse weather apps for this event... They just aren't reliable. The best data available is a glance across the various model outputs at this range.

  14. It's easy to say when you have stuff on the ground, for here I tend to agree with him. We were under the same colours on those charts last weekend and today and we have no cover and only a few flakes in the air, its not as black and white as those charts suggest.
  15. I don't know, the models have been quite consistent for this immediate area for quite sometime, the latest ones have us completely void of any cover at all. Tonight has seen a few flakes blowing in the air and that's about it. I'll keep an eye on tonight's models and the radar for sure, but I'm not expecting much, but any cover at all would be nice.
  16. Manchester seeing light snow, nothing sticking though. As it stands it's not looking too good for tomorrow here at all from the latest models.
  17. People here need to chill out a little - game on, game over, upgrades, downgrades and so on. There's a front coming across the region tomorrow, how far that goes and what it delivers is changing from run to run, even at <48hrs out. The PPN charts are always to be taken with a pinch of salt, this was always going to be a now cast situation and still remains so. Whilst admittedly it looked far better we still look to be seeing at least something, and for an area that rarely gets anything it's not to be sniffed at.
  18. Awaiting any meto updates, they issued yesterdays warning at 11:23 so any changes could be soon.
  19. What an excellent forecast, not just the content but the way it's delivered and the depth of information, just goes to show what we're missing out on.
  20. No way... I didn't pick up when watching live but she doesn't even show the snow when that rain band moves across the country... its turns milky white, not the usual BBC snow graphics...
  21. Dianne Oxberry on suicide watch. Literally crying inside.... Saying big amounts of snow on the way but can't bear to forecast it.
  22. Off to bed hoping for a slight push eastwards on the 0z to bring in the snow towards the end of the week, then to the easterly next week with clear crisp blue skies, bitter temperatures and 2ft of snow on the ground...
