And as I typed that Arpege farts something similar but less intense.

Yep. Looks like a complete and utter bust for here. Bored of it now to be honest. Ready for some warmth.

I think the drama for Friday-Sunday is far from decided yet.
The Icon continues to show a very snowy breakdown and the GFS 18z is not dissimilar with frontal snow across various parts of our region Fri, Sat and Sun! Strong SE winds throughout as well so some drifting if it happens like that.
I'm still not convinced the Atlantic will break through completely just yet either. It def feels as though things are on a knife edge and could quite easily flip back to a colder scenario if things fall into place.
Please don’t give us false hope

A long time ago? It was released at 3pm. A few hours.
Probably why he said “seems like”

Nooo not you too Khodds. There's not many positive posters left.
I recommend reading the posts a few days before the epic March 1st 2018 spell. Lots of crying and whinging only a few days before it happened. We know what happened next. Chin up fellaI hope you get buried where you are. For obvious reasons

Met Office outlook doesn’t even mention transitional snow, which surprises me:
“Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday:
Tuesday and Wednesday will be cloudy, with a chance of snow showers along southern coasts on Tuesday. Rain moves in Thursday. Continuing to be very cold with brisk easterly winds.”

Ian Fergusson’s thoughts
W COUNTRY TONIGHT-SUN AM: Yellow warning from @metoffice for snow & ice, valid 9pm Sat to 10am Sun. Models vary re potential snow extent/coverage later tonight for our region, albeit agree on the muted amounts (perhaps ~1-3cm parts of uplands Glos, Wilts, NE Som). Ice wider issue

Only for north east of region abover 200 m?
But that’s not what you said is it?
you said no warnings.
Probably won’t be much if any at low levels, but some will see snow falling and settling.

Nice to see warnings of snow everywhere except for the west country on met office.
Surely we can strike it lucky once over the coming days?
Eh? There’s a snow and ice warning out for tonight.

Great post, even if only to highlight how unreliable snow accumulation charts are. I remember when we were first introduced to Euro 4, or it’s previous name, and it appeared to be on the money time after time. Was more of a phase really. The cold is locked in early doors. Once we get to Saturday night let’s play fax charts and radar. Buckle up.

Couple of inches here in north Bristol. Nearly stopped now. Radar showing it moving west, so probably had the lions share of it here now.

The radar is deceiving - I am not getting anything. There is literally no snow falling right now and when it does it so light. Literaly at the point where I feel like crying.
I think you need to get some priorities in your life. Get a grip I'm not happy, in fact I'm quite sad

Some people reporting apocalyptic whiteout blizzards, whilst others a few miles away asking when the heavy stuff starts. Gotta love forums, lol
Here, we have around 2 inches on patio table, more on grass where it's drifted. Still not much on paths and roads that I can see outside. Still talcum powder stuff, but looks impressive when a gust of wind mixes it with what blows off roofs

This winter summed up in one pic. Been literally sat a few miles west of me and not budging. Although from reports it doesn’t seem like much of anything is falling even under it.
