  1. I thought the red alert was only for extreme life threatening conditions.

I wouldn't call 10-15cm life threatening.............in fact most of us,kids included, will be over the moon with it.

  2. This time tomorrow we MAY have a fairly good idea of snow on Friday but until then it's still nigh on impossible to be confident in any forecast given the complex models at the moment.

As someone pointed out,it's a fine line between 6 hours of wet snow not accounting to much or 6 hours of "proper" snow dumping 30cm on some of us.

I'm urging caution and not to build hopes up.

  3. Doz any1 knw if the snow is comin Fri bbc Wales weather said its comin

The worlds finest super computers can barely get Wednesday right yet nevermind Friday so i think we can take the BBC Wales report with a pinch of salt.

Could well get a foot of snow but there's massive uncertainties. We'll proably have a good idea early Wednesday evening regarding Friday's possible snow.

  4. Agree, v dangerous to dismiss gfs, however look at the vortex and jet profiles. It's just does not look right. Experience tells me this. Big danger really is secondary low Sunday/Monday pushes through the block, this is plausible, however I believe the block will hold firm and fight back

From what i gather,it's not that strong of a block and the cold pool over Europe is also nothing special.I just dont think it will resist too many attacks from the atlantic.

Could be a lot of fun in meantime though
