  1. Looks like it is all over for the East now B) rain and sleet being forecast on Radio 2 just Attention now switching to Sunday am where 20cm + could fall in Western England from the front coming down from the north . I'm heading to Dartmoor Sun morning
  2. BBC Bristol local weather mentioned earlier "we are keeping an eye on Sunday could be up to 20cm on hills due to front moving through"" Boing Boing Fingers crossed
  3. ????you must have been watching a diffrent forecast there was no mention of next weekends weather or snow down to south wales. :o
  4. BBC and ITV weather forecasts are contradicting each other with regards to thunderstorm activity. BBC are going more for heavy rain but don't seem to be mentioning thunderstorms as ITV have thunder flash symobls all over southern UK and heavy rain!!! :o
  5. Getting heavier............get in!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  starting to stick to cars and pavements!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  6. Moderate snow now in Bristol..............at last!!!!!!!!!!!!
  7. It also showed snow for the west country as well. People are so hung up on this Midlands North thing
  8. Brilliant for the West Country although I can't see Midlands North getting anything from that map.
  9. Absolute joke since when has "significant snow " = 2 - 5cm
  10. To be fair to Richard Angwin he admitted the snow chance in Bristol tomorrow could go either way and made a point of saying he doesn't really know at this stage. Beggars believe why we model watch when certain situations are still uncertain even at + 24 hours
  11. For goodness sake listen to the experts rather than an overated model like the GFS, if the BBC are saying snow then they must be on to something as they have more data to use. KEEP THE FAITH
  12. Poor old Northerners. There was never any chance of snow for Northern areas, this has been showing as a southern event for many days.
  13. There is not going to be any snow in Northern areas. This will be a southern event as confirmed by BBC Forecasts this morning.
  14. So why is there people on here who wish to be in Aberdeenshire for this cold spell when the action will be in the south ?
  15. Hopefully Bristol will some some snow out of this later in the week. Not looking good for the South East though
  16. Good riddance to this rubbish summer a few weeks of warm weather in July and thats been our lot. Bring on global warming and a Severe Winter 06/07
  17. Rita now getting stronger and described as the perfect storm by FOX. No weakening forecast until land fall where it will be a strong CAT 3 or 4
  18. Rita getting stronger again according to FOX MAX gusts now 212MPH!! No sign of Rita weakening.
  19. Are you sure ? FOX news have just said Katrina is still 90 miles away and will hit at around 3-4pm GMT. Where are you geeting your information from ?
  20. One of the FOX news reporters who is in the French District of the City now seems upbeat that New Orleans may escape the worst. I don't understand why this Hurricane is weakening so much considering the waters are still so warm ? Is this going to be one big anti-climax ? On the other side of the coin if it weakens further loss of live should be less.
  21. 0.00 in Bristol Another total disaster of a cold spell for most people AGAIN. It's pretty obvious now snow is not going to be widespread and looks confined to North East and East Coast. Odd snow showers else where but nothing waranting going to the grit Box. Just don't understand why this spell is not more widespread. People who have had snow say it's melting straight away anyway. ROLL ON SPRING
  22. I think parts of Wales are seeing the best of this snow. I don't think the snow is settling very well in most places apart from Wales, which to be far was forcasted to be the worst hit. I'm off to bed now. I don't think any prolonged snow is now due for my area and i'm piffed off with poxy 10 minute snow showers which do no damage. Very frustrating as I can see the kittle snow cover we have melting before my eyes. The last couple of showers snow has been very wet and isn't settling
  23. snow is very stop-start here in Bristol. I was hoping for a period of prolonged snow but at the moment we are receiving short sharp showers. Snowing heavy again though
  24. Snowing heavy in Bristol again. Just in time as lying snow was starting to melt!!!
  25. Looks like the taffs from over the pond are getting the worst of it. bbbbaaahhh!! Blow the snow clouds over the Bristol Channel. PLEASE!!
