  1. Ian if your around are there any new developments with this low pressure system mentioned in the above posts?
  2. And yet again the weather gods stick two fingers up to the South West. A shower of snizzle in the wind it is then.
  3. Looks GAME OVER for most of SW inc Bristol latest charts have the front going SE tomorrow and keeping us firmly in the rain band.
  4. Guys.... lashing down with rain here in Bristol none stop for hours. If all this rain is turning to snow towards Brum then shovels will be needed tomorrow. Anyway good luck and enjoy from a very jealous 38 year old born and bred in Halesowen.
  5. I think you will find its due to BBC forecasts having this low pressure system not really encroaching further North than Cornwall or South Devon and even then only Dartmoor being mentioned for snow depths of any significance. Unless there is a last minute change most on here are going to miss out.
  6. Unless there is a last minute push North there will be No snow for you or me to far North unfortunately
  7. Latest BBC forecast is simply awful maybe 5 cm on Dartmoor struggling to get anywhere north of south Devon. Game over for North Devon northwards
  8. Is it worth staying up ? Anybody think Bristol may get something?
  9. Makes you sick they never seem to have all these mild sector issues over the pond do they?
  10. Terrible forecast snow wise for Bristol southwards for Sun/Mon. Story of this winter so far everything always too marginal., a consequence of not having days of sustained cold established before the snow arrives. Ian seemed quite bullish about a no snow event for this area now (apart from very north of our region).
  11. I have to agree, I've seen this situation happen many times before when Bristol and areas further south get the rain whilst areas slightly further North ie Glos/Cheltenham and Midlands get the snow. Edit . Just seen latest BBC forecast with Carol not showing the widespread snow event that it was showing yesterday and even the midlands didn't seem to be well placed either.
  12. I've given up hope now....just not our night I'm afraid. Not a bad cold spell but not the bitterly cold spell I was wishing for
  13. Not sure that's correct about Bristol yes we've had heavy snow but Most of it has failed to settle only a slight dusting here in Montpelier. Shame as certain areas North and South of Bristol seem to have done really well
  14. Could be Game Over for Bristol then. Can't say I'm surprised from the off it was obvious the snow was struggling to settle on wet surfaces. Early light rain showers before the snow started didn't help.
  15. Not looking good for Bristol thus far, unless the precipitation which is giving parts of Somerset a dumping starts to move up to Bristol this all could be a damp squib here. Snow is to just to wet and not settling.
  16. Watch the national and local BBC weather forecasts this morning. Potentially a lot of snow on the way although Snowmadchris's post above has got me worried things may be changing. Very confused. We need the the Pro's view. Ian where are you.?
  17. Possibility of more heavy snow early hours tomorrow. I think Ian and the MET Office are in for another busy day. Ian if your around what are your thoughts on this feature and how bad could it get?
  18. National BBC weather even better for West Country "significant snow" mentioned and the words "double whammy if this comes off. Ian if your up already what's your take on this. Sounds potentially quite serious.
  19. Latest local BBC weather shows most of the snow around Bristol North and SE Wales
  20. I was in our local Tesco Express today and they were selling road salt. On top of the crate of salt bags was a laminated front page headline from the The Daily Mirror the one from a few days ago saying 3 weeks of snow for the UK. .....that store would do anything for a quick buck. I wonder how many people fell for their scheming tactics?.
  21. Not interested in Mondays none event now. 48 hours ago models were suggested 10cm or more for most areas now 2-5 cm max. Nowhere close to 2010. Posts about snowmeggedonnand epic runs for snow way off the mark unless something changes dramatically in the next 24 hours. It's not even that cold.
  22. We should not get to down in the west about Sunday/Monday snow chances still time for things to change in our favour. It's going down to the wire, any further adjustments west then BINGO. Unlike rain snow is much harder to predict and things do and probably will change within a few hours of its arrival
  23. O/T Lol Daily Mirror trying to out do The Daily Express http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/uk-weather-snow-ice-and-subzero-1527009
  24. OMG Go into Mod thread........HUGE UPGRADES......SNOW this weekend and behind looks superb for usvWesterners as well. Fingers crossed
  25. Lol it's all gone wrong for cold again on the overnight runs according to the MOD thread, Don't worry it will probably be back on again later.
