  1. End of another 12 hour shift. Been a bit busy today so I've only had time to dip into the forum for a few minutes. Looks like some heavy rain for my non wintry town tomorrow and Monday. Having a quick read through the Model Output Discussion and the Regional threads it seems that this weather forum is now solely interested in snow, where it will fall, and how heavy. This area of the Great British Isles has no place in such a forum, we feel like 2nd Class Train Travellers at a Conservative Party Conference, not welcome.
  2. See I think this post could be used to highlight some of the problems that are presently being argued over in the Model Output Discussion regarding the north v south debate, or the biased reading of the models to suit where a particular individual is residing. Buxton Codge has stated above "WHAT A STUNNING WINTER." In my opinion this statement should be followed with, IN MY AREA. Because IN MY AREA it has not been a STUNNING WINTER.
  3. You might, but I don't think many people will where I live.
  4. Another day another dollar. You were quoting me with the "It is presently a pleasant 5c here. Lovely sunshine with a gentle westerly breeze. Still waiting for some weather that fits the Cold Spell Discussion." Just thought I should point out I'm not from London. While I'm here, a beautiful clear sunny morning here in Gunton, the North Sea is like a mill pond.
  5. The end of another 12 hour day at the coal face. I think the game is finally up for the extreme winter weather "Beast From The East" brigade. Now heading home through the snow free streets to my house that hasn't been snowed under. Oh well there is always the next model run.
  6. If I was you Snowman I would seriously consider changing my name to Rain Man, and I mean that in the nicest possible way, not in the film of the same name way.
  7. Reading the Model Output Discussion today there appears to be a hint of desperation creeping into the posts from the cold and snowy brigade.
  8. It is presently a pleasant 5c here. Lovely sunshine with a gentle westerly breeze. Still waiting for some weather that fits the Cold Spell Discussion.
  9. Lots of rain for next week, proper British weather. That's more like it.
  10. As this has been my first winter on the Netweather Forum I thought I would give my amateur assessment of what this winter has been like for my own area. The most exciting aspect of it has been reading the Model Output Discussion thread where almost everyday someone is talking about extreme weather arriving in the near future. Terms like Severe, Snowfest, Snowmageddon, UK Will Freeze Over, Beast From The East etc has kept my interest going for the whole time I've been here. Sadly the reality has been somewhat different for my area. We have had a couple of days when it snowed, and a few days when it felt cold. That's it. So without the Model Output people my winter would have been ordinary, so I would like to thank the Netweather model experts for making it a little bit more interesting.
  11. Just arrived at work and it's a real spring wonderland here. Wet, with lots of green grass.
  12. My last post tonight, finally finished work so beer time. I would just like to say how well the Met Office did in predicting this weather today. They got my area pretty well perfect. Slightly underestimated the temperature but only by 1c. Well done the Met. Temp here now 5.1c and still chucking it down. Goodnight.
  13. You can't get any further east in the UK than me and incredibly the temperature is still rising it's now 5c and the rain is still hammering down.
  14. Thinking the same thing myself Jenny, can't believe how mild it is tonight. At least I can have the windows open to listen to the rain.
  15. Temperature still rising, now 4.5c. Still heavy snow disguised as rain.
  16. Temperature 4c and still rising here. The snow is falling disguised as rain.
  17. My rain is settling really well on my new block paving driveway, I had a feeling at the time I shouldn't let the local gypsies do the work.
  18. If you're into rain this is the place to be, it's settling as well.
  19. The Met Office state that in my area it will start raining at 1500 hours today and keep raining until 1800 hours tomorrow. Quite glad I have a boat.
  20. Have to agree with you there, it's a brighter and much happier office today.
