  1. Ladies you should stop moaning about the lack of snow and get on with cleaning the house. oh dear
  2. I wonder if it would be possible for the model watching experts on here to add some information at the end of technical posts like this stating what type of weather would be likely to occur if the scenario they have just outlined comes to fruition? On a seperate point, the organisors of the Winter Olympics are having to truck snow to the venues as they haven't got any.
  3. It looks like rising temperatures and wind and rain for next week. The cold and snow lovers have had a good run for their money this winter, now time for something different.
  4. Looking at that 00z I would say without fear of contradiction that the whole country will be snowed in for over a week.
  5. Latest Met Office. Outlook for Saturday to Monday: Generally cloudy with scattered light rain or sleet showers across England and Wales on Saturday and Sunday. Rain spreading from the northwest reaching all but the far southeast on Monday. Updated: 1532 on Thu 11 Feb 2010
  6. Beautiful day here, we have all the outside doors and windows open in the offices to let the air flow through. Bring on the Spring.
  7. Big snow storm just hit land here, high winds and driving snow. Amazing sight and sound.
  8. Great photograph. The sky over the North Sea looks like that here too.
  9. Getting beyond a joke here. Snowing now for about 3 hours, still heavy. Just had to unload a truck in my yard and the wind chill takes your breath away. Fed up with it now so go and fall on someone else.
  10. It's quite amazing here on the cliffs, the wind has really got up and is pounding the snow at us, it's like a summer thunderstorm but with lots of snow. Very spectacular.
  11. More heavy thunder and tons of snow falling, really wasn't expecting this. Looking out at the North Sea and there is no sign of this stopping for quite sometime.
  12. A complete whiteout here. Massive thunder. The heaviest snow shower of the winter.
  13. No it has now stopped and we have gorgeous blue skies but a fairly strong breeze. Looking out over the North Sea I can see more snow arriving in the next ten minutes.
  14. You have taken a video of snow falling near a lamp post?
  15. In the words of Ricky Gervais "are you having a laugh."
  16. Yesterday I had to drive from here in Gunton to Colchester and back and in that time I probably drove through some of the heaviest snow of the winter so far. What was great about it was none of this snow settled, so you had the lovely scene of lots of very large snowflakes falling but without any of the hassle. Perfect. Model Mood: This "Beast From The East" is just a little fluffy kitten.
  17. I agree. I also have to say because I'm a big mouth that where I live this winter has been pretty ordinary. Nothing special has happened here. It got a bit cold for a few days. We had a bit of snow. So what. Get used to it, we live where we live, this country is great, we have no extreme weather and we have never had a revolution, I have no idea if the two are linked but I'm pi''sed
  18. I think the bottom line is we live in the UK and we don't get extreme weather, but we do get changeable weather which keeps it interesting. I like a nice storm, I love a bit of sunshine, I'm also partial to some strong winds and a bit of snow. All in moderation. What I find disturbing are the people on here who would only be happy if there was some kind of weather that would cause severe disruption to peoples lives. That is just sad.
  19. I've got a torn hamstring which is now bandaged with an ice pack on it. I'm fed up and I would like to know where this "Beast From The East" is. Edit to say: Also drinking copious amounts of alcohol purely for medicinal reasons
  20. Spring and summer oh so lovely. Warm nights in the garden sipping chilled white wine talking rubbish with my mates, walks on the beach without the need for a heavy coat. Puuuurrrffeeect.
  21. Excellent post Stephen. It won't make a jot of difference, but still an excellent post. In fact I'd go as far as to say it's nailed on it won't make a jot of difference, I might even lay money on it not making a jot of difference.
  22. I'm beginning to get the hang of the Model Output Discussion thread. I find the best way to figure out who's posts might be worth reading is to ignore anyone who uses those silly moving faces in their posts, or write "lol" when they're obviously not really laughing out loud. Also be very wary of posts by people who have the word snow, cold, frost, cool, freeze or any other chilly related word attached to their profile name as they are very likely to be biased towards seeing 20ft of snow on the way.
  23. If it isn't going to be like this I'm not interested
