Unbelievably this part of dartmoor has developed a snow shield. Hasn't really snowed or had anything fall from the sky since 11 last night. The angle of the in coming showers have hot the south Eastern part of the moor and deflected it around. Consequence minimal snow depth of 4cm.
Yep same here ??. What snow we had yesterday was whipped up into a frenzy and blown off. Some build up around hedges etc but not much lying at all. Bald patches in places. Still, I will remember the blizzard conditions and not look back on this being another totally rubbish winter.

I have a freezing rain snow mix here for half hour as the windows rattled but looks like back to snow now
I've still got freezing rain/snow mix. The snow has drifted but not settled well.

I have only seen freezing rain once nearly thirty years ago and it is terrifying!
I went to Canada in 1998 6 months after a severe ice storm, the land was devastated. Mile upon mile of trees broken in half, power pylons still down with temporary fixes, sign posts down etc, wildlife lost. Very sad.

It's blowing an absolute hoolie here and constant snow since 12.30. Quite spectacular but hardly any lying snow, it's getting blown away. Where does it all go I wonder? ??

This could be our generations 1978. We are thrilled! Think the m4 barrier will reversed and stop snow heading north!!! Lol
We certainly are thrilled. So excited. Are you at work today FK?

Just woken so haven't ventured outside yet but we have light snow, not enough for a covering yet but only a very light breeze. Like you guys I've been waiting with the hope of a day like today for years. Let's hope some dreams come true.

Wow, what a start to the morning in Salcombe! Currently blizzard conditions once again here. About 3-4cm fallen so far, you'd imagine that could easily double later on today. Bearing in mind the worst isn't supposed to be today either...
I'm loving these reports from the south coast. Nothing here where I am but at least some of you snow starved people are getting something, however feel free to share ??

Wayno
Glad to see the Cornish contingency is finally getting a bit of snow, assuming that's what you're wishing for of course. Hope this is just the Beginning for you.

Thanks! We got some slush that froze and hung around for a few days in 2010. The last proper snow in Wembury was 1997 I think and that was very short lived.
Well let's hope the next few days work out well for you. Best take some photos if you get any more sprinkles. It could be years before we see it again ❄?❄?

Anyone from around the Dartmoor area on here? Met office shows heavy snow from 9am Thursday until Midnight Friday
Ties in well with the ECM 12z snow depth chart which predicts 30cm.Yep I'm on lower Dartmoor. There's a few of us on the group. Could be interesting. ??

I leave the PC for two hours and this happens!
First proper snow shower in Wembury. It came down pretty well for 30 minutes and dropped around 0.5cm I'd guess. Late to the party with the Easterly, but hopefully I'll be able to post early inroads from the channel tomorrow. I can't see that covering going anywhere soon! -1.6c, DP -4c
Fantastic Steve, great to see someone on the coast finally getting some snow. Nothing here at Yelverton ??

Still sunny on Dartmoor ???. Great to hear some of you guys are having a flurry or two.

yep all subject to change but i think tomorrow has great potential. Getting out of plymouth could be nightmare if the roads start to pile up.
It'd be fantastic for us, hubby and I are both off for the day so that's great, but it would be even more amazing for Plymouth and JJ ( and my brother) in Torpoint, they very rarely see snow. ??
