Sorry if you feel I have offended that was not my intention, I do get frustrated when for all the millions spent on super computers and the human input when it comes to the possibility of cold weather they rarely get it right. My question would be why bother?

IDO and Knocker will be right more than 90% of the time and you can't blame them for ramping mild, it's the default setting for the uk. What gets my goat is the computers and the so called professionalls that report a high possibility of northern blocking and cold when in reality it just does not happen. I'm a coldie and wish for cold and snowy weather but get so fed up with having to pay taxes to an organisation that lets be honest, for all the millions spent on super computers cannot predict further than 5 days ahead!! ! Rant over and sorry if I have offended.

Love Netweather and the predictions made by others. It has been a very benign Autumn and continues to be so and foresee an old fashioned November with frost and fog the main theme during the coming weeks. I have no idea what will follow into December but do hope for a colder than average winter with a least 3 or more national wide snow events, which I will be more than happy with.

I see knockers posting back on the mod thread, so no cold weather in sight. I guess there's always next winter.

A new tread on the model output discussions and another round of day 10 predictions, just love that day 10 not!! When I die l'll ask the wife to have written on my tomb stone , If it's winter wake me up at day 10.

Honestly thought we would see at least a week or two of cold weather with snow on the ground. Well the cloaks ticking for this winter and I cannot see any wintry weather in sight from the models for the next couple of weeks. I'm sure I read somewhere, we in the uk would experience colder winters from the period 2018 until 2030 or was I dreaming!! until them I'm hibernating :-/

Mild again today, I had high hopes for this winter and thought we would get a week or two of cold weather with snow on the ground. The cloak is ticking and no really sign of winter in the next couple of weeks . Maybe something for us coldies next winter. :-/

I'm old school and winter in my eyes started on the 21 December, so plenty of time for cold weather. I have never brought into the winter is measured from 1 December until the end of February and never will. This winter is typical of the El Niño conditions, and not forgetting the cold pool of water in the North Atlantic . I personally do not believe It is in anyway related to the climate change rubbish. The amosphere conditions are the true drivers of our weather and I hopeful of a change to colder weather as the season progresses.

Another mild month, 6.3 me thinks.

Having been born in the 60s and a love of the weather, especially warm dry summers and cold winters, something is going to go BOOM very soon!! Believe me, Mother Nature will balance out this winter. The very mild/ warm conditions will be repaced by winters cold in the second half of winter......so keep the faith coldies :-)

I fear this mild muck maybe with us for sometime, the El Niño is set to deliver above average temperatures with periods of heavy rain. I'm not writing winter off on the 6 December, but normally once a pattern is set like this, It takes weeks to change.

Having been a member of Netweather for a few years now i still haven't got a scooby doo how to read the models. I visit the forums everyday........more so in the winter period, as I love reading up on the search for snow. However, in our part of he world it is unrealistic to expect 3 months of snow, otherwise what would be the point of Netweather. I'm always optimistic every winter of seeing the white stuff and have a feeling this year will deliver at some point, so there's no need for negative thoughts on something no one can control......not even the models. Enjoy the fun 😃

6.9 for me mild month overall with any cold spells short lived.

What an awful evening, bucketing down when the forecast mentioned a light shower. It's been raining on/off for nearly 2 hours, drives you crazy

8 degrees lashing down outside, I've had the heating all evening😟 I guess this what happens when you have a very cold pool of water in the North Atlantic just off our shores........it's got to get better soon 😳
