3hrs of snow and I can still see the road & footpath ...not gonna get 3mm never mind 10 cm at this rate

Well thats first half of the forecast totally wrong for my area ....see what the next half brings!!!

Sleet now here ...the road which was white over (just) is now going back to black tarmac...this is becoming a none event at the moment...!! chin up spose ...app heavier stuff due after dusk according to forecast which atm has been very wrong!

Well first 2 hrs of snow and no differance in depth from 1st minute ...this has surely been over forcasted, just took daughter to work,all main roads in Sheffield black and wet, cant understand it I have -2 in the car but sleet/snow is very wet as it falls, uppers must be warming up ...very very disappointing so far here!!!!

Still no more than a dusting here .....#poorstart , has a chance still to redeem itself? Pennines sem to be zapping everything out of it ??

This is a none event atm ..been snowing for 1.5 hrs and just dust on road ....not gonna get 5cms at this rate #timerunningout

Just seen the temps for Sheffield area for Sunday - 4/5 deg C ....surely these temps wont hold the lying snow in place ...quick thaw? or do we get it sticking around ?

I hope your right Andy because we are running out of Winter days now ....! A very common 2011/12 Winters day here in Sheffield - Warm (10c), windy & sunny Otherwise it will go down as one of the warmest Winters for a long time :-(

I was'nt around either Rose :-) ..but had great chats with my mum about it ...you never know !:-)

Sorry to be off topic ...Not sure which Regional forum I ought to be in ...help required please ...my location is south Sheffield close to the NE Derbyshire border ...I will ask the same question in the Midlands Forum......! Currently -2 ,clear skies ..and the REAL cold air has'nt arrived yet ..looking a bit more like our Winter may start on Friday onwards....!

The gusts of wind tonight seem alot stronger than yesterday here... flood alert for some Sheffield rivers also tonight!!

Well we have had Rain ,Sunshine,sleet,snow,wind,hail,grouple all in one day ... a great day for weather buffs in Sheffield ..hope not too much damage experianced in our area. Me thinks the MetO underrestimated this low today in some areas

What a beautiful day for a 5 mile run in Sheffield today ..sunny all day long ..great to do a winter run in dry conditions...got the SW squall back tomorrow :-(

Makes a change to have a nice warm Christmas, 9 deg today with a gusty breeze, making it feel a little cooler than of late here in Sheffield
