  1. Morning all. Didn't go to bed till gone 2am, as was so noisey. Was amazing tracking the flights on the app, one BA from Oslo tried to go into heathrow for ages, ended up at Leeds around 1am. I didn't live in London during the 87 storm, but know people who did who said it was the most incredible constant noise and that nothing has come close since. I remember the 2000 storm, trains were all cancelled at Waterloo. Being from s Wales, we got a lot of stormy weather, but certainly not as much as this. Last night has rearranged the garden, but atleast roof is intact and not flooded, unlike the poor souls down the road in egham, Staines. It's gusty this morning. Currently dry although cloud creeping in from west.
  2. One helluva gust just as a jet going over to heathrow. Know they are big things, but that must be getting buffeted. Areas of this bungalow creaking that haven't creaked in the 8years I've been here!! Very dry and mild.
  3. Sky news anchor outside in Staines getting blown about, Cripes what a gust, whole bungalow creaked.
  4. Gotta be honest. It's a bit rough out there. Just went outside to meet someone briefly and there is debris and stuff around and wheelie bin flipped over.
  5. The fox just appeared and was very wary of the swinging bird feeders! Ears pinned back and sensitive to all things moving about. It's fairly calm inbetween the gusts. Stopped raining and isn't cold.
  6. Fairly windy on and off here, just stuck head out of door, no sign of foxes or badgers. Not going out to see the band now, going to stay in with the ipad, wine and some party food !! Oh and the flight app is amazing, I love being able to tell which planes are going over every 90secs to heathrow, and their holding pattern sometimes is interesting. Noticed a tree in field sort of had its bark stripped, if that's possible. It was sort of beige colour. Normally a dark brown.
  7. Blowing a bit here in the park and rain slamming patio doors! Meant to be going out tonight to see a band, hmmmmm, it's a bit wet tho!!
  8. Hi all from, blowy brentford. Hope the trees last here, already got one that looks in bad shape. It's windy and wet and I haven't seen any birds today bar the odd hardy magpie. Oh and plane birds to heathrow aswell!!
  9. Hi all agree with captain comment above. All one country. It's started raining here and breeze has picked up. Chilly rather than cold. Stay safe all..
  10. Morning all. No trains from Windsor and Staines due to flooding. Fairly chilly day here and grey and damp.

  12. A few stiff gusts just recently! Just breaking on sky news, pedestrian underpass being used as emergency pond to put flood water into, South London.
  13. Morning all! I slept through Ruth's onslaught. A bit breezy here now, but dry atleast for now. Wales v Ireland today, come on the boys!
  14. Ruth's roof is still on top of the house!! Sorry but my poetic whatever doesn't flow as superbly brilliantly as jenny janes or abbruzi spur!!
  15. Tonight's storm is called Ruth!! That's my name! Everyone calls me Ruthie though, hence profile name. Raining here now and the wind is picking up.
  16. Evening! It's raining here,,no really. Feels incredibly mild though. Unless it's just me! Opened patio door earlier to put Foxie out some dinner scraps, and all I could hear were ducks! They must have popped up from the trout lake at bottom of the field. Bless em.
  17. Proper wild here now, rain lashing windows and trees moving about. Might sleep fully clothed with all mobiles and ipad strapped to me incase something falls on the house, atleast I've got all means of comms on my person. Stupid to think like that I guess!! A few hum dinger big trees here tho.
  18. It's jolly windy out there and jolly wet too. Sorry, but the word has been in the media today!
  19. Hi all, been laid up with awful cold bug thibg, was in bed two days! Back to it now. It's feeling a bit breezy here but thankfully still dry for evening rush hour. Dreading the wind , as living in a field of trees! Have a great evening all..
  20. The sun keeps going in here, back again. So lovely to see it! The the wildlife sound so pleased.Temp is 38.2 and so gonna head back to the sack, such a pain as had so many chores to do.Get well all!!
  21. Morning all, just, from sunny brentford. The birds have nearly eaten all the nuts I put out yesterday, noisey green parrots mainly. And squirrels. Long tail tits have been hoovering up bits on floor. Haven't seen the chaffinch boys n girls for a week or so, nor the dunnock. Looks nice out there, shame have the lurgy, feel awful. Know some of you have also had it. Have a jolly good Sunday !!
  22. Afternoon from breezy brentford!! A few gusts picking up, Doing a few chores before Wales Italy and then England, six nations!! Come on the boys!!!!! Got tix for eng v Wales this year, I've never been to twickenham for the rugby before and I cannot flaming well wait. Been to cardiff and Edinburgh stadiums before.
  23. I had put out a bit of bread and butter for Foxie, she's been visiting our garden for four years now, since a cub. But she wasn't around, so badger popped in and took the bread. Don't see him often. Was a few badger cubs a few years back. So cute,,but just the one big one visits now, every few months. Foxie visits most evenings, she's beautiful with big bushy tail, and good fur,,no mange. Have watched the foxies pounce on mice here, and we had awful problem with them in attic, so good to have the foxes helping keep population down!Funny, never seen a badger or fox or squirrel until I had moved to London from Wales!! Fairly chilly now, just opened door to check. Fine drizzle in air with the fog.
  24. Haha reading that made my wine go down the wrong way!! And benidorm is on!Foggy here still and badger just visited. Huge he was.
