Not a sniff of thunder over the past few days... rather disappointing this is the summer equivalent of snow disappointment lol

Seems to have gone very quiet just now... here's hoping for a better show tomorrow

Quick snow shower just now, not lying but amazing to see it
Loved it and that should keep me going til next Winter now... I hope!

I'm a little concerned about the flooding potential around here - the burn on the South Inch was level with the top yesterday and appeared to be stagnant, so something must be blocking it. I hope the Council have sorted it out today, as otherwise we'll get what we had in August when the water flooded the Edinburgh Road, Marshall Place and several side streets, as well as the whole South Inch pretty much.

Well, just had to go out and have another look Measuring 22cm now and still chucking it down... it would be really nice to reach 30 as I believe that's approx. what 2010 topped out as, so beating that would be legendary!

Edo I just want to thank you... I was very sceptical about this one, due to the very many disappointments we've had over the past few years. This doesn't quite make up for all of those, but it's pretty much the best snowfall here since 2010 and I am kinda hoping we get a bit more overnight too
I hope everyone is enjoying the snow if you have it and if you don't, I know exactly what that's like too!

Interesting to hear the other local totals! I just measured 17cm in the back garden and 20cm on the South Inch, level
There is about 30cm up the hill according to my folks and my brother is now braving the road to try to get home to Coupar Angus
Enjoy a few snaps from my walk earlier

I haven't had a chance to catch up in here from overnight as work has been manic, however I did pop outside for a quick measurement just now - 4 inches (10cm), but it seems like a lot more than that! There is probably double that on the hill though.... very good stuff and the biggest since 2018 certainly I'm a very happy bunny now

I'm on the very southern edge of what the euro4 is showing as the really heavy stuff.
If it had to pan out as per that graphic then I think the prime spots will be Larbert, Denny, Falkirk, Kilsyth, Slamannan, Grangemouth.... With that being said, the graphic will not be spot on so I'll take my chance being at the very southern edge of the heaviest stuff shown on the graphic.
Falkirk could get absolutely smashed tomorrow!
I really can't see the MetO avoiding a red warning for the areas I just mentioned, so long as nothing changes between now and tomorrow morning.
Also, I have to say, for this locale, it's starting to feel like a very similar scenario to the feb/march 2018 event, we got a good few inches on the Tuesday night, a brief lull and then Wednesday morning lead to the red weather warning being issued followed by an utter pasting!
Has the same sort of feel about it, if I get a few inches tonight, and wake up to a red weather warning in the morning I'll be getting peeled off the ceiling by the Mrs
She's already had it in for me today for playing frozen songs and 'let it snow' on alexa
..... And she thought I was pulling her leg when I told her we really needed to get this...
I was going to say... you'll need that to dig out your dug

Maybe my memory is faulty, but I thought we had 60cm +!

I've been here since 2010 but very rarely posted, and it's only this year that I've felt more comfortable doing so, so thank you to everyone for your informative and entertaining take on the Scottish weather

Well, I'm really trying to keep the faith but it's been a wetfest again here today
Let's just hope we get something, but I'm really not expecting anything - I suppose that if we do by some miracle get buried then it will feel awesome, but yeah
Fingers crossed, and I do hope everyone gets a little of the white stuff!

The models still agree late Saturday uppers and dewpoints and 950 temps all mean snow and then the instability of flow Mon and Tue will result in the showers being frequent but where they land yet to be seen.
Its a nowcast on how much snow you get for many of you not a question of marginality so chins up folks.
You can see people already posting dropping dewpoints, we all have snow chances late Saturday to Thursday and then who knows at this point.
Oh and remember @Kirkcaldy Weathersaid there will be thundersnow
Thank you Edo Not meaning to be a downer, it's just we've come so close to something really decent many times over the past 10 or so years (since 2010), and most times it just hasn't delivered. With the way things have been up to now I was starting to expect this to be the same way, but lets keep fingers crossed and keep smiling

Yep, I think that's put the nail in the coffin for our chances here I reckon. Obviously subject to change but if we see a few cm at this point I'll be happy - a shedload just doesn't look like it's happening unless you live on a huge hill

It's been wet and wild all day here - it was so loud last night it woke me up! However, I've also got water inside too, as the kitchen roof has sprung a leak - brother is on his way to look at it (he works at a plumbers) so fingers crossed it's nothing serious! I did see a few flakes at times but I'm still rather nervous about the next few days - let's just wait and see... oh, and I think we should all move to Braemar lol!

Hey all
A nice little dusting here. Nothing to write home about, but a pleasant surprise and as others have mentioned, hopefully a nice start!
Cheers
