Werd u live!!?? And all the latest data cnt be wrong can it... Chill
My location is under my avatar.
-
the heavier radar echos always seem to avoid here, which is odd as there are no topographic influences.
-
But the nae was great. Dnt be wrong!!
False promises, unless it intensifies throughout the night.
-
A bit of perspective - a foot of snow in NE Wales. Kind of hard to get excited about the possibility of 12 - 14 hours of light snowfall when these are the scenes, and these aren't high elevation scenes either.
-
Well my original fears are probably coming to fruition, a big fat nonevent from my perspective. Good if you live in Huddersfield or Penistone. I think the removal of the amber warnings are in order, the current rate of snowfall shouldn't even warrant a yellow warning.
-
Nothing like that here. The flakes are so tiny they might as well not be falling. If this continues until lunchtime tomorrow, I expect about 3cm.
-
NAE is obliviously an upgrade, even Lincolnshire gets in on the act.
NAE has just upgraded with every single run, while GFS has downgraded.
-
Snowflakes are microscopic now, need the front to intensify a bit.
-
Much prefer the fine flakes myself - they accumulate faster, they're usually a sign that there is absolutely no marginality involved, and they create awesome drifts too. When I think of big flakes I think of wet snow that doesn't accumulate very well and makes you soaking wet.
-
Snowy windows?
Seriously?! I can't believe it.
-
Doesn't take long for snow drifts to start forming against my windows. If it continues at a similar pace all night, I wonder what I will wake up to tomorrow?
-
Well you guys are winning to tug of war currently. Your snow is coming thick and fast in the south and sw of the region
We currently have heavy rain and sleet although the essex contingent are pulling hard and are reporting snow.
Enjoy, looks as though wales hit the jackpot though with 40cm in some hilly parts...
As i type im on the turn with driving sleet..
To be honest, NAE and GFS have always shown it moving north, but then forced further south towards EA/SE as the colder air wins out, so I don't see why you snow couldn't affect the SE too.
It's amazing how quickly this snow has settled. Coming down thick and fast like nobody's business. Hope to see some impressive drifts tomorrow.

Now settling on wet surfaces.
-
Met have heavy snow until 12pm now, so definitely a push backwards, not that I'm complaining, as long as we get some snow.
-
I'm happier with no warnings. Warnings normally kill the event off,
True. Probably would have gotten hammered, but the Met had to give it the kiss of death.
-
Hopefully things will pick up now the daylight has all but gone, whats your temp like up there?
Temp 0.2c, dew -1.1c, good for settling snow so I am none the wiser as to why it isn't settling.
-
Still crap here, I'll see what it's like in a few hours because I'm getting bored now, and if nothing has settled then, I'll just presume that this entire thing is a non-event.
-
Its exactly the same here
Have a beer and chill !!
I can't chill - I want snow and I want it now. All this snow falling but not sticking is a massive waste of time. If it isn't sticking now, there is no reason why it should stick later on.
-
The temperature continues to fall, but the snow isn't making any attempt at sticking.
-
I genuinely cannot think of any reason as to why the snow isn't settling at all here with a temperature of 0.3C (decreasing) and dew of -1C. The ground is just wet. What a load of crap.
-
Coming down nicely but really struggling to settle despite temperatures being very good. Very confusing.
-
Despite what the radar shows, not much is falling here.
-
Amber warning for Yorkshire! Missed that.
-
Heavy snow most of today, and tomorrow, affecting E York's and Lincs too, so more widespread.

Impressive. Nothing remotely like that here. Will have to go out and measure.
