  1. I really hope you get one Jane, you deserve it fingers crossed yeh . Also to all the others too that hasn't had a storm.
  2. Hmm, I know that this morning I think it was travelling up threw the IOW and C/S England but yeh it has seemed to be getting pushed more west as each run goes on. I do agree that we need until tomorrow evening to get the better picture and even it will still be very hard to say on what could happen. My fingers are crossed for a cracker:D
  3. You know the latest 12z for saturday evening into sunday, i noticed theres a alot of heavy rain too coming up from fracne or Bay of Biscay, anyone know if here along South coast we may see some thunder and lightning, I know it is still 2 days off but it has got me interested.
  4. Hi all Its a beutiful day here with some very nice warm sunshine and not a cloud in the sky, a tad bit of a breeze but not really noticeable Temperature at 19.4c but at 22.2c in Newport
  5. I have noticed this too with isotherms, thanks for the information on this as I too was wondering why it was doing this . Anyway 18z not bad really, not cold and not too hot, it has very nice comfortable looking temperatures. I also reckon its quite mixed with atlantic infulencing and some decent warm weather with high pressure tyring to build in far FI but that will change probably. Looks like thundery potential is decreasing as we get closer to the weekend
  6. Temperatures have recoverd really well and is now upto 15.5c and the sun is making it feel quite warm out there now
  7. Well the sun is out now after the rain we have had and the temperatures are recovering nicely which are back up to 14.0c 7.2mm rain this morning which was welcome
  8. Left home about 7:45am and was drizzling in sandown, got on the bus too college and went into alot of low cloud and murk. When I got off the bus in newport it was a dry but cloudy start until I got too town and started raining quite heavy and has been heavy since then so far. Im currently in college now and looking at the raintoday radar looks as though it will be gone very shorty, Its pretty chilly out in the wind but seems to of died down a bit. Current temperarture 10.7c Okay now it is coming down very heavy now
  9. Make that 2 Harry, hmm I still think by mid June onwards will start to see much more risks and our time will come
  10. Should be Interesting to see what happens in those areas tomorrow with some decentish cape about in scotland and northern england. I would guess thunder in most heavier showers
  11. 14.9c for me please I sence a very warm June coming up with thundery breakdowns in between
  12. Yes, can see it on raintoday looks very nice and there is another one coming your way
  13. Wow sounds violent indeed, I've been into the weather (especially thunderstorms and snow), since the age of about 5/6 and it was a violent thunderstorm that got me into the weather, I remember being at my nans with my cousin and we heard thunder and both ran to the window to see it and funnily enough I was the one that was scared by the lightning but not the thunder but I remembe rseeing some amazing lightning strikes and I think it was the fear of Lightning that makes me love it so much now and is probably my most favourite type of weather. Yeh I know what you mean. Oh my god hope the house repaired okay, sounds like a very close storm and for the friends house of been extremely loud, I remember here too when we had a tornado before which it was either that or the great storm of 87 whcih I wouldn't know as I wasn't born that ripped apart shanklin Pier which is ESE of the IOW.
  14. Well since 2007 it hasn't really been great, but 2006 and other years before we were quite common for violent thunderstorms on the IOW though last year was an improvement, and this year we already got off to a good start in march. Don't know what it is sometimes about the IOW but it is a strange place for weather here but I spose thats why i love it hear so much about the weather here too. I do know what you mean by the gales i remember in november the needles which is west of Isle of wight recorded 100mph winds while on my side of the Island In sandow which is east was a expericencing some kind of supercell with 80mph winds, cracking thunder and lightning with a reported tornado from a few friends to the NE of the IOW oh and I forgot about the hail which was crazily heavy hehe. Sorry about my punchuality however you spell it and spelling
  15. I too wouldn't be suprised if a rumble or 2 of thunder was heard but I think tomorrow will be just generaly heavy rain mainly across SE as have already been said. Maybe late June can deliver I would be very happy indeed if we had a similar repeat of June 25th last year which braught storms to us from the SE
  16. Our last notable thunderstorm was March the 25th this year, despite a couple of storms last year which pushed from the south, SE or SW it has been nothing like it used to be since 2006. 2006 was my best ever year for thunderstorms in my life time so far i reckon espcially the end of July when we got up 5/6 very powerful storm one in particular was 26/7/06 which I posted about in my thunderstorm stories thread. 2007 was relatively poor with only a few that push from france and i think 2008 was the worse year for storms here, that August 6th 2008 storm missed us by about 10 miles and was eatchign a spectacular lightning show for about 4 hours but wasn't near us:( 2009 was a slight improvement with storms on June 25th, July 2nd, July 6th, July 16th and July 29th and quite a few in November and December. So far this year 1 notable thunderstorm 3 days with thunder heard 5 days with Lightning seen
  17. Urm we got AcCas clouds under this milky kinda sky with it being darker over the sea.
  18. Thats another thing I forgot the humidity is quite high here and it feels humid and muggy Our humidity is at 81% now Thanks for reminding me about the humidity Harry Lol
  19. Okay, I too can't see the storms moving out of france but if some do drift into the channel then i might keep an eye out for some distant lightning but I doubt it, I think if this was id or late June there would be more of a chance if anyone else agrees becasue i spose by then we would get more surface heating becuase of the sun that bit stronger again.
  20. Thanks for that, the Dew points isn't that bad here atm, in newport its gone down slightly to 12.9c but is that a good dewpoint temperature or does it need to be slightly higher?
  21. Well here on the IOW the temperatures are mixed between 15 and 20c Where I am the Dew point is at 12.3c But other places on the Isle of wight have Dew points of 13 to 14c I dont know if that is a good thing or not??
  22. We have the same here, hazy with Cu/Ac i spose thats not a bad sign, and its really starting to kick off in france now.
  23. Hi all Its currently Dry and warmish but nothing like this pass weekend and yesterday, there is quite a bit of haze about and bit misty in some parts. Currently got a NE breeze which does take the edge off those temperatures Current temperature: 16.8c
  24. Starting to pick up a bit more in france now, still wondering how close it could get tonight still.
  25. I reckon 11.0c will be reached but then drop again after this weeks cool spell
