  4. Hi all been quite a chilly day today but felt nice in the sun when it came out around 3ish as it was a cloudy start with a little NE or E breeze about which made it feel cold. Now its partly clear with some cloud about and is quite chilly Current Temperature at 8.6c
  5. Hmm, i reckon it will warm up In June, but i reckon the best time for more hot weather will be end of July into early August. Though with all this cold weather about now it can have a grow in confidence that next winter could be another cold one but thats way too far off to be able to tell .

  16. Hi all been quite a cold day today with a stiff N or NE wind which makes it just that bit more colder. Have had a few little showers one of them came with a few bits of hail in so been quite interesting.
  17. Suprisingly we have had a few little showers with one of them having a bit of hail in it. Looks like we had a pretty heavy one miss us to the West and North West of us as I colud see the curtain of rain or hail under the shower and looked nice
  18. Here is my 2nd story of a big thunderstorm, Tornado, Big hail and crazy rainfall in September 2008. 12th September 2008: The Day had started off on a warm and humid note, felt very pleasant on the way to school that morning, anyway as the morning went on some AcCas was already showing and some pretty strong convection about. I don't remember Thunderstorms being forecast for this day, by about 11 it felt very warm and humid with no wind at all, the sun was really helping the convection growing more and more. About 12pm had just finished lesson and then had to go to assembly and was currently under a small light shower, but to my North, North west and West there were huge CB'S but didn't think it was going to thunder. During assembly after 30 to 45 minutes into assembly, I heard rumbling outside but thought it was a plain or someone moving stuff outside, 2 minutes later heard it again and then I became suspicious of to whether it was thunder or not, then happened again and then teachers kept looking up at the sky as doors was open even though the guy was still talking at front. My mate kept looking at me with a confused looking face, I looked at the little window to my left and it looked a little dark, as it happened a 4th time I then thought nothing else in my head and wispered to my mate it's Thundering. It was coming over at the right time as i only had 2 minutes left of the assembly and I was getting very impatient and could not stop looking outside. finally the assembly finished for lunch and lunch was about an hour but I knew it was going to be a long, loud and wet lunch. As we was walking down I looked to my West, North west and South west and you could see this enormous rain curtain coming right towards us, then walked along the path to the bit we hang out and then a huge crack of thunder as we was walking down and everyone looked up and was like UH OH. My other mate who is one of my best mates he loves storms too, he came to me and said did you the Thunder and I said yup and said have you seen what's coming towards us, this is going to be a big one. We saw something very weird, about 10 feet to our right it was peeing down with rain and we was bone dry still and everyone round the area was like LOOK AT THIS IT'S RAINING LIKE JUST THERE!! Was getting very dark and then about 10 seconds later a bolt of Lightning hit Just in the school fields and then everyone was like right there's the Lightning we are going inside, but not me and my mate and we were you thinking what Im thinking go into the field to go and watch even though getting soaked. Then started to rain and the rain spots was enormous and then absolute let rip and rain was coming down stupidly heavy probably the heaviest I have ever seen. The Thunder and Lightning was starting to get frequent about every 5-10 seconds and was very loud, while my mate was looking to the North west, I looked to the South West and noticed some rotation and was like mate look at that, we then both saw a funnel forming and it was rather big and came down very far but as it came so far down there were reports that it had touched down, as we was watching it a beautiful purple CG hit just in front of it. After another 5 mins we decided to find cover as everywhere was starting to flood and rain was just getting heavier and heavier and we was soaked to the bone. So as we started to go towards some cover, some Hail was starting to fall with it and became heavy but the Hailstones were huge, size of big marbles and am not Joking either and they hurt, We had absolutely everything being thrown at us and Thunder and Lightning was still banging away with loads of CG Lightning still. This storm had the exact same characteristics as a super cell and have been wondering for a long time if it was a super cell, anyway a lot of people was just walking out of school because everyone was completely soaked and cold but me and other friend's stayed, but as the Storm took me and my mate into another world, we ended up 30 mins late but it was well worth it and had felt so happy. The back of the storm looked amazing with Huge anvil and some big Mammatus with it and saw the last CG which made me very happy. This Storm still dose not beat the July 2006 but this is my 2nd favourite storm I ever seen though Hope you enjoy reading it
  19. I see a nice CB developing there I see, looking Interesting now . Also same here Mesodiscussion I wish I never had college tomorrow
  20. This sounds Interesting, I think I remember this actually, I was only 6 at the time and this is when my liking of weather started around the same time and I remember it was a thunderstorm around that time frame that got me into weather and made me love it so much. I don't remember the hail here on the Isle of Wight but remember being a heavy thunderstorm over head. Thanks for the Information

  24. That Sounds exciting, I wonder if one of my friends from Bristol remembers this, I will have to ask him tomorrow but thanks for sharing
  25. Dont blame you that you want to go over there again sounds like an excellant place, but even though we may not get as many here as florida, tornado alley or any parts of America the IOW can get some very good ones as i have seen quite alot of times but yeh nothing compared to where Mid US gets I would dream of going there every year and I jsut want to expericence it at least once or twice in my Life time.
