Hamburg is heading for round two, all off that suffering in 34c temperatures only for the storms to explode over the continent. Give us a break mother nature, why are we being punished?

all I have had this year was 3 claps of thunder in Feburary of all months! Really not lucky this year.

I have just been speaking with a meteorologist in the US who works for Fox in Minnesota, he said he wasn't surprised as the GFS has been over cooking cape and li for a few weeks now.

At least the Oil platforms are getting a good show!

Yeah I agree, only once since then have I heard wardrobe rattling thunder, and that was just a close CG. I think most of the thunder since then has been elevated in the storms. The time before that was the August 2006 storm, I went to Asda with my mother and when we came out the sky was black to our south and she joked about seeing a huge flash of lightning but it turned out to be one of the largest storms I have seen in the UK.

Does this setup remind you of the Wimbledon setup? I can't remember what year it was but storms where forecast for the day but none materialised but the next say storms broke out widespread across the SE when they were not forecast to?

Last September we had an insane storm that lasted most of the night into the morning, one of the bolts of thunder was incredibly loud but I didn't see it because my curtains were closed and a train was derailed by a mudslide!

Last time I saw clouds like that (although I saw them today) was on the 3rd of July 2015, that night we had some crazy storms.

I can see the Lightning over the east of London it's so sparse and the thunder is barely audible.

One of the best storm nights happened this night two years ago.
