  2. Paul S is watching , Craig has gone for a fag and I will be back in 5
  3. better flight times and nice airline as you said, If it's the equivalent or cheaper we may as well try ? Not sure what point Craig or Paul are at
  4. just found an £825 flight for Virgin on last minute.com ?
  5. Sounds like a good option , but I'm having a problem with the link, is there anyway you can email it over to us ? @ Craig, Kayak was only giving me options through Philly and Detriot or Salt Lake City
  6. The main reluctance for me is Detroit is not the sort of airport I want to get stuck at again (it lives upto it's reputation after 5pm and weekends!). regarding customs at ORD, I don't think it would be an issue as we are catching a connecting a connecting flight What s a shemagh scarf ?
  7. Thanks Paul S, how do we change the Address if we already have an ESTA ? I'm probably going to regret this but......... I favour the LHR to ORD , ORD to PHX flights on the BA website. It is more expensive but at least if we get stuck we will be in a metro area.and not somewhere like Detroit, which lives up to it's reputation past 5pm and the weekends.... !! Cons : They are AA flights You have to pay for Alcohol The staff are generally rude Pros : Not bad flight times The Pizza isn't bad er that's it
  8. Hey, It's swings and roundabouts for me as if we fly from Gatwick I'll have to travel up the night before so a hotel at this stage will easily be £100 quid , plus gas, if we fly from LGW. Overall it seems cheaper to fly from LGW (barring hotel/travel costs) as the taxes are lower than LHR but we could save a similar amount if we didn't fly back on a Saturday (based on prices the BA site). Happy to go with the majority decision, but I think we should make one sooner rather than later
  9. Hey all, my preference is for a Heathrow flight too simply because of logistics, also tempted to fly out a day earlier if it's a late arrival
  10. but fun I think the sale ends on the 12th much like the BA one. The problem is I'm not around much this weekend if a decision is made
  11. Ouch, for that price we could fly Virgin (sale prices) , with a stopover in Vegas
  12. Except when they get invaded by Netweather !!
  13. Hi Lewis , so you are on T4 ? Everyone tends to book the Best Western in West Irving as it's where the change over happens . It's about USD 60.00 for a room , but they are big enough to share with someone else so you can easily halve the costs.. If you look on the earlier feeds the address is probably there Regarding flight nerves, I've developed my own ritual but it depends what part of the flight you are nervous about, although you'll probably be shattered on the way back which always helps.
  14. lol, that one was the flight back from Dallas, where I seem to recall vowing never to fly AA again.....The Chicago flight they were too terrified of the T-Storm we were trying to land in BTW Paul x2 and Craig, forgot to mention, I'm not around much next weekend so please put an FB post or tweet or text me if you guys book flights as I won't have my netbook
  15. Hi Guys, the £818 BA/AA flights have been on the AA site for a while so the BA site aren't sale prices (typical Finance cyncism.!! ). The flight to Chicago isn't too bad but there is a chance we will get an old plane with TV's on the aisle (I got caught on one of these, this year), So there is chance you could go a bit stir crazy after the 3rd repeat of a bad US "Comedy" ..... Just not too sure hanging around any further will mean we get cheaper seats so happy to go with what ever
  16. Thanks , a 5 hour drive kind of counts me out as well as the B&B prices, have fun
  17. Hey Tom How far is Shap from London ? and are there any B&B's around ?
  18. The scenery is definately worth it even without the fireworks! I passed through Arizona last year and took more pictures of the journey than of the Grand Canyon!! Still not so sure about the Scorpions though !!!
  19. :air_kiss: MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA !! (that's a thanks btw!!)
  20. Ok I've cracked Do we have a green light ?
  21. Hey Guys, I've just checked out the AA website and found flights for £815 that have a stop in either Chicago or Dallas which is encouraging bearing in mind these were more expensive the last time I checked . I also spoke with friend of mine in the US and he said that as long as we can get to main hub airport then we should have no problem getting a reasonably priced internal flight (confirms Paul S's comment) , although there seems to be no price difference in getting to Chicago, New York or LA for that matter, !! Flying from Gatwick also seems marginally cheaper. I'm not entirely convinced these are going to go down much further as the main expense seems to be the taxes just getting out of the UK (unsurprisingly!!), so don't know whether just to bite the bullet or not
  22. and I may have found some flights from LGW to PHX for £449 in August Will update tomorrow once I've called them
  23. the other Paul did mention Delta airlines to Atlanta and then Atlanta to Phoenix........... NYC is another idea will have a mooch around, but I think our problem is we'll be coming back on bank holiday weekend huh be still my beating heart !!!!..........somewhere around the Western Rim would be awesome !! Although have to admit I want one over a ghost town a la Susan Strom !
