  1. Thanks again all Even the virtual chasing was fun
  2. Me worry...never! Ta for the update. Do you reckon if we hold off a little flights maybe cheaper?
  3. Hey Paul, Craig sent me this link and was saying that he looked at flights, that were coming up at £500 ish for flights in July http://www.cheapflig...flights-online/ . Although I have to admit I'm getting itchy to book flights myself. I saw on FB that Paul S was going to speak to Susan Strom about the Wildfire situation as the fires seem to have been widespread and out of control over the last few days, so it's another reason to hold off Claire
  4. the feed of this was amazing and well worth going to bed at 5am . Congrats guys
  5. Good Luck on the last chase If its any consolation we've had some great skies round our way and even the occasional storm
  6. I'm really sorry to read the death toll has now risen to 151 confirmed...really heart rendering stuff
  7. Brilliant , Absolutely Brilliant Great Pics as well guys!
  8. Only Go Walkabout seem to insure for stormchasing, but you will have to call up to get it endorsed for this. Expect to pay £90 + minimum for a single trip , £150 for an annual policy. May be more now in light of the severe season this year
  9. Hi Tom, my sentiments exactly, We don't generally get to stay in the same place for more than one night, so the two nights made Joplin more memorable, especially so, with the early morning chase, the crazy golf and people I chatted to on the coffee run to Starbucks. The thing that I have ringing in my head is the waitress in Outback who said nothing ever happens in Joplin and she wanted to move to Arizona. All we can hope is the people we met and their families are safe and sound. On the positive side, I've been chatting with an FB friend who as it turns out lives in Joplin and its sounds as though they have a very strong community spirit and cannot believe the amount of support they are getting worldwide.
  10. <BR><BR><BR>Ultimatley the question is what is the cost of a human life ? I'm fully aware of the economic arguements , surely the authorities need to invest in the very basic preventative measures in these areas of the US
  11. Hi Quentin, can you repost the link pls. It didn't work for me
  12. <expleative> I'm gonna say it even though it cursed T1.. Stay Safe Guys

  14. Jealous.com......awesome pics so far , can't wait to see more
  15. Sounds like a plan. BA is fine as I have vowed never to fly AA again after Thursday's escapade (well at least for this year!!) Thanks also for the tip on Delta, this sounds like an option to as I have friends in Atlanta. I won't be making any decisions at least until the jetlag has gone
  16. Cheers Paul, It 's pretty much what I've found but am struggling to make a decison after some bad luck with flights recently. I suggested to Craig that we try to co-ordinate as there will only be a few of us, have you booked yours ? Claire
  17. Dare i ask but has anybody looked into flights yet ? BTW .. I found this nice link about lightening photography which may be of interest : http://www.weatherscapes.com/techniques.php?cat=lightning&page=lightning
  18. The only thing you need to check is the passenger info on the flight reservation and that you have a valid ESTA. You won't need to do the green card either, just the customs form
  19. throw in a southern drainage system to keep the ground moist , makes for some very happy storm chasers......oh and farmers too!!
