  1. We have been at a funeral in Devon yesterday and set off very early back up here this morning. The sunrise over Somerset was epic. A few years ago today’s weather would have been too warm for me but after the other weeks heat my appreciation of (what hot is) has changed.
  2. Well the weather worked out ok at KC. 2 sunny days and 2 cloudy with the occasional shower. It rained most nights in the early hours but safely back in the tent by then, the only time we got caught was Saturday night. Overall it could have been much worse, I’ll take that
  3. The rain has been mostly at night, we’ve dodged most of the showers only this evening has things turned wet so we’d notice.
  4. The tent took a bit of a battering last night but we stayed dry. Showers on and off this morning.
  5. Arrived here at Kendal calling just before 9. It was raining when we got here but by the time we had parked it had stopped The forecast is for plenty of drinking and dancing to commence around 4pm.
  6. We’d love to go to Glastonbury every year but getting tickets is a nightmare. Went in 2016 and 2019 so we’ve experienced very different conditions underfoot
  7. Kendal calling for us this Thursday, hopefully the weather picks up, it looks promising at least the first two days.
  8. I feel that it merited a red warning, unfortunately there is an agenda from certain media and on social to discredit the warnings, to discredit the met and anyone pointing towards climate change for the high temps. The ‘it’s only summer’ campaign on social media. An attempt to trivialise it and for people to dismiss it. Daily Mail headline on Tuesday calling people who took precautions ‘woke snowflakes’. The scenes from around the country were disturbing to say the least. This should be our wake up call, our line in the sand, however it in all likelihood won’t be. “What’s the point in going net zero in Britain when it won’t make a difference if China don’t?” ‘It’s becoming difficult for people to deny climate change much longer so let’s make the public feel their efforts are pointless. That will prolong the profits from Oil’ $$$$
  9. 25 downstairs, a good 28 up. Got every window and door open now to clear out the trapped heat.
  10. We may not have hit 40 but 38 in Manchester when the previous high was 33.7 is nothing short of staggering. 4.3 degrees above our highest temp ever Same for most of the north of England I imagine.
  11. 31 at Manchester airport at 9am, the temp record before yesterday was 33.7
