  1. Before this winter I hadn’t seen lying snow for two years so eight months of model watching and snow chasing for nothing. I will take snow in any month
  2. You know that the country has had enough when weather enthusiasts don’t want -10 uppers and convection. Bring it on I say
  3. A long drawn northerly with -10 uppers and very low thicknesses just to the north of Scotland. You would think this would be a snow machine.
  4. I don’t have the knowledge in this field, mainly due to them being as rare as hens teeth.
  5. Look, there’s not a lot going on Easter Monday, we may as well enjoy an Arctic plunge.
  6. Still caution advised but the models are firmed up on at least two days of unseasonal cold. Remarkably well modelled by the Gfs in its strongest area, Greenland.
  7. I fancy a clean sweep tonight for the start of this cold spell for the end of Easter weekend. Whether this becomes historic remains to be seen but we’ll have a good idea by Thursday. Historic in April is not historic in January but we get what we get.
  8. The concern would be the UKMO is setting up a similar pattern.
  9. It’s akin to a 48 hour toppler in winter when a Bartlett has cross model agreement at day 7.
  10. 24 hours down the line and everything is moving towards the gfs.
  11. In normal circumstances you would dismiss the Gfs vs the Ecm but not with pressure around Greenland. This is a strong area for the GFS in a period of the year more conducive for high level blocking.
  12. I’ve got a table booked for my birthday on the 14th, I’ll take 21 degrees and Sunny.
