So has most lighting ceased or is most cc lightning now, I was gonna go to the top of the hill In pocklington where I can see Selby Doncaster way but don’t know if I’m wasting my time aha. ?
Most lightning has stopped, maybe another short lived cell pop up.

The storm that tracked over Sleaford did seem to split, with two cores. May of had transient supercell structure.
-
Storm headed past the North Norfolk from the SE.

It could be but most of the lightening was out west. From leeds road otley looking west towards Ilkley was constant sheet lightning and rumbles of thunder with little to the east.
This is the same storm I think

Yeah, similar experience in The Gambia. The storms brought very little relief!
Did you get anything early am?, it was East of IOW, not very active.

I wonder if the NW radar will show hail later? It hasn't for a while.

Ooh, interesting! I can see occasional flashes coming through the curtains, assuming all from the cell to the SE. If something has developed to the west of that, then that'd be a pleasant surprise
I'd say there's a storm that may track over the Eastern part of IOW / Selsey , maybe next 45 mins. Not much lightning though.

The trajectory of the Channel cell is bang on for us if it can keep going…
Any cows down there now?

Quite a bit of Accas around, not sure if it's trying to develop further, could be something home grown in the next hour or so.

I was. Changed the name as I was starting to find it too cheesy!
Stunning red sunset through banks of AC Cas at the mo! My phone camera wouldn't do it justice
I see ,
Good luck for later
The nights are too short this time of year.

Walking the dog and I'm seeing plenty of activity trying to build in the channel.
Were you resonating earlier?

Ireland is doing well again , must be several Thunder days there this month, and Scotland.

sadly it was discontinued at the end of 2021 (from memory), but it was generally pretty good at convection
Ok thanks, no wonder I couldn't find it.
Is there a next best option? I don't really use the models very much. Just wait until nearer the time , and then watch the sky and radar.
-
Is the Euro 4 model hereabouts? I've heard folks big it up for convection.

I know the fractus is ready to scupper any visibility overnight

We don't seem to get big storms developing on the other side of the channel e.g around Bay of Biscay in late evenings that move North into C/S UK anymore...always seems to start near midlands early morning then head North during the day nowadays.
Yes storms developing around Cherbourg early evening and heading NNE. I remember that happening a few times before. Now it's either home-grown or Kent clippers.

"a cow parping at an awkward angle on the edge of the North Downs could cause storms to initiate".
I agree about the occlusion/troughs focusing storms. Maybe it's too early, but I've not seen any forecasts or models factoring in cows though. Or horses and sheep.

i'm currently being rained on. I'm just west of Livingston and the radar is showing some rain, however above me is blue skies. I'm west of the rather tall cloud system which is giving this rain and the wind seems to be from the south...so why is it raining on me? Sun is out, heat is oppressive... and I'm being rained on. Granted it's very light rain and isn't gonna do the veggie garden any good, but it's weird.
It could be that rain from high cloud is delayed in reaching the ground. The cloud may of moved away, but rain takes a while to fall from the clouds, so it leaves a trail of rain behind it.
