Directly above me, rain has intensified and sheet ice forming. Never mind nearly 3pm, when it all magically turns to snow, or not.if the warm front as stalled where exactly as it stalled?
-
Gas Mark 7!!i dont think anyone would have lived with the gooners today, they are that good..meh
-
Yes with snowflakes painted on them.I've just watched BBC weather on news 24 and snow at 8.00pm all over our region, do these weather people have windows lol
Thanks for that!it should be 7-1 and id be surprised if it doesnt end 8-1 or even 9-1 they way the gooners are playing -
I'm a Rovers fan, so combine that with todays snow and that gas oven is going to have some company soon.they still have 30 mins left to play
-
Ha, thought I saw snowflakes falling then, it turns out it was my Pampas grass blowing in the wind,
-
I think we can safely say that those who have had snow will continue too see snow, those who haven't, insert head into gas oven.
-
It's been ruddy well stuck over me for the past two hours, enjoy!lightly sleeting here, temp slightly increased to -1.1C, this must be the mild air coming through
-
It's in danger of imploding!am going to open a new thread for you all....will be closing this one shortly
-
Heavy rain, sorry freezing rain.metoffice have upgraded our warnings for today and tomoz
-
It's turning into a non event for some in the NW, steady rain for nearly two hours, albeit freezing rain.
-
Jam tomorrow doesn't cut it anymore, if this turns out to be a non event, then roll on Summer. You just wait for the Greenlad high. Give it 10 days.
-
-
We are roughly 27 miles inland, and it hasn't stopped raining for well over an hour.
-
-
Yes, but will it occlude over the NW. Answer, probably not.Typical warm front characteristics here, no chance of proper snow until fronts occlude
-
:lazy: :lazy: :lazy:
-
Time to call it a do I think, if by 3pm we still have rain, I think we can safely say it's a non event for some of us.
-
So far it remains as freezing rain, I must say I'm not that convinced this will be an all NW snow event, already many members reporting freezing rain, and sleet. I thought any rain would be restricted to Coastal areas.
-
I'm far from convinced this will be an all NW snow event, already it's a patchy affair.
-
So does that imply you think I am stupid. Not completely true. Freezing rain is not normal rain hitting frozen ground it is supercooled below freezing and solidifys when hitting objects doesn't it? Hence so rare
Maybe I need to brush up on my humorous antidotes.
-
I've got a feeling that this isn't going to be a snow event for all Mr Data. Its almost looks like its backbuilding on the radar animation.
As for this cold front, unless the warm and cold fronts occlude, I can't see how you can get snow on the cold front until the back edge of the cold front, there is a mild sector between the two fronts.
-
What time is this rain suppose to clear this evening.
-
freezing rain here, some 24 miles inland as well.
-
I'm not that stupid, I do know that. :lol:its the ground thats frozen, hence water hitting it, and instantly freezing. If rain was colder than normal it would be snow or even hail lol
