Fantastic day yesterday - max of 0.9C. View looking over toward the Tweed which runs right to left under the furthest hills and through the village of Drumelzier (hidden).
-6.0C overnight so ninth air frost and still below freezing just now at 10.50am. Quite the wintry snap.
Interesting to hear on the tv that the power disruption is, "three times worse than the 'Beast from the East'". Feel lucky here that our damage is limited to a 4m section of dry stoned dyke that's toppled into my garden.

Wind sounds like a heavy lorry going past the front door. Not enjoying this at all. Husband is a great help - earphones clamped to lugs; listening to the soaps
Similar experience here. I've turned up Judge Judy ha! I probably would be scared but it's Friday night and the ale is flowing. Burning through the coal though as the chimney emits an F#
Temp 1.5°C snowing but not lying.

Wind picking up in Tweeddale and we are only on the edge of the amber/yellow wind warning being directly 30 miles due south below EDI airport together with flakes in the wind but nothing much at all yet ppn wise.
Noisy trees. Naughty.

Wonderful day yesterday - cold crispy start, sun beating down and chilly. Couple of hours of grey early afternoon, but after I finally got my act together jumped in the car and headed up to Fruid reservoir, it was sunny again and the car said 3C at 3pm.
That's Finn at the remains of Hawkshaw Castle, where i Incidentally saw my first ever Golden Eagle. Wow. I know a few pairs have been released in the 'Moffat hills' in recent years - so this tallies nicely...
-1.7C in the garden overnight so fifth air frost.....

I'm going to get excited regardless, because if nothing else it shouldn't be drizzling this time next week.
Of course - we are going to get used to you popping into the local boozer now and propping up the bar in here!
As a resident, welcome @Paul !

I'm wondering when we are allowed to start getting excited...?! (That'll jinx it).

Saturday night was a corker here with a very gusty wind indeed and at one stage it blew one of the guinea fowl down from the chimney top! She was not happy...
Wet this afternoon and a steady rate of temp increase. Now sitting at 11.4C at 5pm.

Oh my - I have never seen anything this bad before in relation to floods. Three of my four local roads are closed - cars littered around hazards flashing. In taking Finn the collie to doggy day care I encountered the main A701 and the burn had merged into a fast flowing river, driving speed at 15mph. A good 40m flood at a depth of over 0.5m on another stretch and panicked looking faces on motorists. But lorry drivers having a right laugh!! Normal journey time 14mins, today it took 32... Stay safe if you're in the zone!!

Second air frost here too at -0.5C. Beautiful sun all day now though and a nippy wind blowing leaves around.
Lovely.

Snowy snow snow in Tweeddale. About 1cm! But it's a covering so a snow day.
-3.5C means tenth air frost and still -2.2C at 11am. It's the kind of snow that was on the car windscreen but the wipers just immediately brushed it off to reveal a clear view - like talcum powder. Love it.
