Beauty of a day yesterday with a max of 15.4C and the sixty sixth overnight air frost at -12.C.
Smashing clear vistas just a bit further north and west than your spot @metallikat34:
Today starting in the same vein, but obvs not going to last. Rain to reach here early afternoon the forecast says - the grass is waiting in anticipation....

Is that the trial for the new attempted forum or software? sounds like something's in the pipeline for here
There's a review underway / options appraisal about the forum software @NUTand where we are headed more generally... So that supercedes the idea of fiddling with this invision board just now.
Beautiful day. 16.4°C the sun splitting the sky and my first guests to the house this year. Marv.

Thank you to those of you who had responded to our thinking about a trial move of the Scottish Thread and trying something a bit different. Turns out the trial is postponed now... Not for any bad reason, but to allow a bit more space to think things through some more

Sixty fifth air frost, and colder than the night before, despite what the voice on the radio said yesterday, at -1.7C.

Sixty fourth air frost at -1.1C. Will it ever end?!

So, fellow Scottish thread mafia - here's an idea netweather towers are interested to hear your views on:
There's always lots of activity in the place-based threads (English regions, Scotland, Wales and Ireland) and maybe it's time to look at giving these areas a bit more space to grow. With improved forum software we want to relocate the Scottish thread, as a trial for a month, into the soon to be renamed 'clubs' section (it will be called groups) using new improved forum software. This will mean we can look at having a Scottish gallery, perhaps more than a single thread (for instance could have threads for regional severe events, or maybe historical stuff and so on). We could even use mapping to allow members to put yourselves on a map, and maybe use it to encourage meet ups and the like.
Are the regular Scottish thread spring posters and visitors up for giving this a try whilst it's not too busy - and seeing how that feels? Thoughts?

Radar says green, but no rain to be seen...
Narrowly missed out on air frost with a low of 0.2°C. Looks like a dull day, no wind.

Frosts sixty two and sixty three respectively with -3.0 and -2.8°C the last two nights. Quite the run now. Beautiful day at 15.3°C and strong sun. Gone a bit pink with all the outdoors work around the garden.

Sixty first air frost -1.4C. Sunny and 13.7C now mid afternoon. Lovely and not a breath of wind.

Sixtieth air frost -0.5C. Foggy morning, sun trying to break through now at 3.8C. Had to do that thing where you're driving along and trying to remember where the fog light buttons are...

Morning all

@shuggee risk of frosts continues right through until next weekend (current output) - must be a new all time record approaching for you. (Total number of recorded air frosts - not sure what period you cover? Just Winter and Spring or all seasons combined?)I've only lived in this spot for four winters, so don't have a long term record. But after last night's -7.7C it's at fifty eight now starting on 24 Sep 2020, as it's a "frost season" that I'm interested in. The snow day count is winter/spring though - not least because we haven't had a snow day in autumn in that timeframe!

Covering of the white stuff here too early doors. Was half asleep just nipping for the necessaries out of bed, looked outside and was totally confused as to what was going on for a couple of seconds! -6.7 & -2.3°C last two nights so that's fifty sixth and seventh air frosts.

Dollar Law had a dusting this morning, but nothing below 700m. -0.5C at my altitude earlier, fifty fifth air frost. Winter hanging on!

What a disgusting day. Rain in my face is never pleasant, especially at 5C. Just missed out on an air frost at 0.4C.

-2.2C overnight, fifty fourth air frost. Grey slate skies earlier and spitting snow flakes (some of the wierdly, quiet big but completely isolated). Bit birhgter now, patches of blue. UNlike yesterday morning when it was scrape scrape, no frost on the car at all this morning.

Two beefy-ish showers of graupel and snow - turned the world white briefly. My guinea fowl stuck their heads under their feathers in protest.
Last night was fifty third air frost at -3.7C.

An absolutely gin clear sparkling spring day. And from no lambs in fields four days ago to thousands of them everywhere today, the countryside is alive with cuteness!
-2.3°C last night. My FIFTIETH air frost. Hurrah.

Decent day but not a huge amount of sun. Pleasant though at about 15c with that stiff breeze finally easing off! Charts appear to be showing something potentially wintry after Easter. Not unusual for the time of year (I'm ignoring charts showing -20c 850's over Scotland for now ) but got me thinking back to April 2018. A good few days for many on the thread. Great fun reading back through the posts
2 April 2018:
I particularly remember this day as I had to check how to apply the 9am criteria for declaring a met office standard 'snow day', and the consensus was it was 9am GMT so actually 10am BST.
