  1. 2 April 2018: I particularly remember this day as I had to check how to apply the 9am criteria for declaring a met office standard 'snow day', and the consensus was it was 9am GMT so actually 10am BST.
  2. 13.2C here and yes, felling mild despite that wind. Tomatoes now over an inch high in their pots on the window sill. Has anyone seen lambs gamboling around the countryside yet? Feels late this year, and still not seen one despite seeing an average of 200 sheep per minute out of the window. And here's a quick shot from a walk in the torrential rain yesterday afternoon - can see it it was that heavy!
  3. Had showers of everything here in the last few hours, temperature like a yo-yo between 3.5 and 7.5C all day. Quite an icy covering at lunchtime - slushy hail soup puddles. Cats unimpressed.
  4. Was like that here an hour ago Nut. Totally grey anti cyclonic gloom. Then suddenly from nowhere it's wall to wall blue skies! 8.7C and shooting up. Bit different to this evening, three years ago: VID_20180317_223708.mp4
  5. Only 4 or 5°C all afternoon and moderate spitting rain in a brisk westerly. Ate too much brunch so couldn't face a hilly walk and opted for the Biggar-Peebles railway trackbed instead. Marv.
  6. Xcweather.co.uk was all blushing pink and 2.9cm of snow at 1°C then 0°C. The front passed through and was all 2.9°C and rain with, eventually, some big flakes - I'm being generous calling it sleety... Meh, 1.7°C now and some wee splodges left on the radar....
  7. Snowline at c.350m here. Pretty on the morning outing. Velux was covered at bedtime, but obviously a brief covering.
  8. Down to 2.5C in last snow/sleet shower. Big wet flakes. Always nice to see...
  9. Forty eighth air frost at -0.4°C. The cold feel has subsided this morning with positive dew point 7.8/2.0°C.
  10. Forty seventh air frost at - 2.4°C around dawn. Went up the hill behind the cottage with the dog this afternoon. Gorgeous and chilly, which suited as it was quite the climb but up to 4.6°C.
  11. I looked up from my work and it's snowing. 2.4/-1C. Unexpected and not too light either.
  12. Chilly again with a -1.1C minimum so forty sixth air frost. Only 0.7C at nearly 11am, but weak sunshine and a feeling of anticipation.
  13. Oh it's haar - makes sense now. Hadn't thought of that! Still got down to -1.2C and forty fifth air frost. Looks like snow for Aberdeenshire/Moray Thursday...
  14. May be good for a week - but turning colder and wintry showers (scattered) Thursday.
  15. Forty fourth air frost at -3.0C. Foggy earlier too, but a beauty of a morning now with wall to wall sunshine, frost and blue sky.
  16. Three years ago tonight from a NW'ly flow full of beefy showers:
  17. 55 plate Fiat 500? Might make an air frost tonight... And 7 days time might be 'interesting'?
  18. That's the heavy rain on. Amused to see Biggar get a namecheck on the BBC Breakfast Carol weather. 5.9C.
  19. Bang on Ross - two amber warning areas now for the rain tomorrow and Weds. Be interesting to see if it gets any worse than Saturday when the entire upper Tweed valley flooded about half a mile across, severely limiting my most local dog walking areas! Did see an otter though - thought it was coming for me but ran into the river about 5m away.
  20. As above, lovely day. Remnants of snow high above 400m.
