  13. I`m sure there are some stats out there concerning viewing times but, for them to be accurate they would have to span both Solar minimum and Solar maximum years
  14. It was a bit of a strange display, Very faint needing an 8" exposure and the really strange thing was that as soon as the Nautical twilight rays hit the clouds, which in my experience should 'light them up', they just dissolved them - the atmosphere is still to warm for any decent display
  15. I don't think so Rob, never known there to be
  16. Cheers for the heads up @Spritesand @Zak M I'm not sure i would have noticed in time to sort out my settings I was happily shooting a time lapse which wasn`t showing anything, and they disappeared from site around 03.00 for me 02.35 8"- f4.5- ISO 640
  17. Low just above smut level under Capella around 8° to the NNE
  18. End of Nautical twilight Capella is at 9.5° Nothing to report
  19. Some high cloud just beginning to encroach
  20. Fairly clear uppers here for now- just coming into the first N twilight
  21. I took his quote to mean "or at least to the fact that they were blown out of the radar beam to the north" exactly that. and that's why i am still trying to get my head around it.
  22. I`m not sure he was talking about a long time change, but that afternoons current radar signals from Saura which showed a sudden change from Southerly's to Northerly's Aktuelle Situation an OSWIN & Co. NLC-Saison 2023 - Seite 4 - AKM e.V. Forum FORUM.METEOROS.DE It's going to be a poor season because we are in the Solar max (statistically)
  23. 'You cant always get what we want' - Rob knows the song I have been trying to get my head around what Stefan from the German forum said last evening, about a wind change in the Meso' that may have pushed them to a more Northerly latitude
