  1. I don't think so Rob, never known there to be
  2. Cheers for the heads up @Spritesand @Zak M I'm not sure i would have noticed in time to sort out my settings I was happily shooting a time lapse which wasn`t showing anything, and they disappeared from site around 03.00 for me 02.35 8"- f4.5- ISO 640
  3. Low just above smut level under Capella around 8° to the NNE
  4. End of Nautical twilight Capella is at 9.5° Nothing to report
  5. Some high cloud just beginning to encroach
  6. Fairly clear uppers here for now- just coming into the first N twilight
  7. I took his quote to mean "or at least to the fact that they were blown out of the radar beam to the north" exactly that. and that's why i am still trying to get my head around it.
  8. I`m not sure he was talking about a long time change, but that afternoons current radar signals from Saura which showed a sudden change from Southerly's to Northerly's Aktuelle Situation an OSWIN & Co. NLC-Saison 2023 - Seite 4 - AKM e.V. Forum FORUM.METEOROS.DE It's going to be a poor season because we are in the Solar max (statistically)
  9. 'You cant always get what we want' - Rob knows the song I have been trying to get my head around what Stefan from the German forum said last evening, about a wind change in the Meso' that may have pushed them to a more Northerly latitude
  10. Frustrating to say the least, and as @mushymanrob said last night for any visible display, we`ll all be shouting at the cloud I did see the faint display on Fort William cam posted by @Sprites Just after midnight till around 01.30, also they were sighted on the W coast of Holland I ran a time lapse from around midnight to 03.00 to see if anything was visible through the clag - But nothing detectable One bonus i suppose was capturing a small meteor around 23.15 I`m not going to jinx tonight
  11. Still in the first half - plenty of time remaining End of N twilight at 23.40
  12. Also Capel Dewi in Wales Getting a good feeling for tonight/ morning Best of luck mate, and everyone venturing out Here`s hoping for a discernible display
  13. The German forum have reported some early morning sightings caught on webcams in the D/A/CH regions I haven't put the individual photo`s up out of respect to the forums copyright rules, but here`s the link where they can be found https://forum.meteoros.de/viewtopic.php?f=34&t=61348 to be honest your 2 images are just as valid showing faint NLC`s as theirs As is mine to which i was going to file as a 'negative' sighting Taken at 02.50
  14. Was the image on Facebook or twitter Neither of which i have access to if so could someone re- post pls
  15. Quick update- clear as a bell but Nunk See what the 2nd half brings
  16. I don't think anyone would mind I'm looking for shiny clouds atm but will check the date with Brumcam later
  17. I have been fooled by the Russian cams before Rob, they look the part in the first image, but not sure they are NCL`s If they were they wasn`t around for to long I`ll wait till it`s time for the better quality Baltic cams and see if they show anything
  18. looking at the Russian cams now- Not so sure
  19. They are just discussing the late echoes on the German forum Aktuelle Situation an OSWIN & Co. NLC-Saison 2023 - Seite 4 - AKM e.V. Forum FORUM.METEOROS.DE
  20. I think we would need the time that the images of the individual clouds were taken by the satellite? There is a time and date running vertically up the image, but i am presuming that is when the map was produced as it differs from the title date. When there's enough information(5 days) It will be interesting to se an animated Gif of the map
