Gone dark to the SW here as the heavy shower PIT mentioned earlier arrives. It's still got an intense rain core to it but hasn't had any electrical activity for an hour now.
Let it come through, I could do with a bit of wetness to cool me down...
-
Can see some cap cloud to my SW, over the Sheffield way. Some Cu bubbling beneath it, but not getting near.
-
19 degrees, 81% humidity, and a dewpoint of 16... Shame the cap is stuck...

I'm pretty sure we've sent a few in the last few months. Brewed em up and sent them on the way.
Most of them miss me (to the NE of Doncaster), but theres been a few little ones.
-
Its 17 degrees here, and the cold front is about 10 miles south of me.. Think it'll get pretty muggy soon.
-
I don't power the damn thing I just want to kill it.
The only time it fails is when a storm develops locally this side of Dronfield.
It seems that every lightning strike and storm has missed Doncaster... , heard a fair few rumbles, but nothing else.

Dunno if Paul Hudson got over excited or not.
I think he just said there was potential for some strong storms..
However, this is awesome, one of the Lincolnshire funnel clouds from Wednesday.

Got another little cell passing to the SW of me, should have a few sferics in it..
-
Next one in line appears to be popping up between Newark and Lincoln,
-
The thunder and heavy stuff has cleared away from here, but theres some light drizzle and its getting warmer again.
-
Another crack of thunder here. Getting closer to me.. Think its only cloud to cloud though.
-
According to the lightning map, its 5 miles SE of me...
-
We have thunder, virtually straight overhead!

I've got one storm about 10 miles SSE of me at the moment, although the sky is only a dull grey, the anvil and overhang earlier were massive.
-
NOT HAPPY, nothing in Hatfield. I thought we were in the danger area but its missed me completely
There may be something soon in this Hatfield, the heaviest bit just to the NW of Lincoln is tracking straight for me...
-
Well that was short.Bit brighter now behind the cell that has just passed.
Hopefully that allows a bit of heat to build up in preparation for part 2 later..
-
Theres all sorts of activity appearing in the sky to the south of me...
-
Few little cells appear to be popping up mid Channel.

TEITS isn't far wrong though. The area with the highest SB cape levels lay within the area he has highlighted! In the past, it's these areas that have come off worst in these setups. Look at a fortnight ago for example.
Puts me right on the northwest edge of the 'at risk' area. I'll be in the Lincoln area on Saturday, as I can drop down the A46/A15 if I need to.

Oh it was Fantastic, i was in hull watching the storms head over the Humber. Great structure etc.
Indeed.
I was sat round the back of work watching the line of storms heading NE through Lincolnshire, and to be honest, it was quite interesting. Lots of huge anvils and the like.
The potential setup for Saturday is nearly identical. I'd aim for the Newark / Vale of Belvoir area and choose which way to go..

Funnel in Kirkby-In-Ashfield as well yesterday

two little funnels there so might have been quite a broad circulation with little spin ups coming off it
The system went virtually straight over my head at about 4, and there was all sorts going on in it, so it wouldn't surprise me.

The Crowle funnel clouds seen forming earlier...
