    I know I missed a funnel by about 3 miles earlier (the Crowle/Sbad wordhorpe one), but I think I spotted one attempting to form over Castleford/Pontefract way at about 5:30, just after I'd gone through a very strong shower. Not 100% sure, but my brother who was in the car with me seemed to think the same.

    The thunder here sounds more like a heavy lorry driving past.. Every minute or so now..

    Theres been reports of Thunder a couple of miles east of me, but I've not heard anything.

    Days of Thunder list? Is that some sort of Tom Cruise thing?? If the one that has just crossed Chesterfield keeps heading this way, then I'll be happy.

    Could see the tops of the Cb on the drive home from work earlier, but couldn't see any lightning from it. Still looked impressive though.

    Looks like theres a few bits and pieces building over towards Sheffield/Barnsley. Just watched a Cu/Cb build from nothing in 10 minutes.

    Can see the top of an anvil west of here. Think it may be the Stockport one, as thats about 45 miles as the crow flies from me.

    Has anyone got a radar runback from the last couple of hours of the Scarborough storm?

    The entire Sheffield system appears to be moving towards me now. Don't think theres any lightning in there though.

    Looks like the SE corner of the country is in for a hit from a French import. Is there anyone in Bridlington or Scarborough? Looks like theres an immense show going on up there.

    The one I was expecting to come my way appears to have stalled over Sheffield, and another cell has peeled off towards Castleford that looks to be immensely threatening.

    I'm in Hatfield, South Yorkshire, not Hatfield, Hertfordshire. Don't think my eyesight or hearing is that good

    Looks like very strong convection happening at the front of this storm coming from the Sheffield direction. Just watched a tower bubble up in the last 15 minutes or so.

    Distant rumbles of thunder happening here.

    Got really, really muggy here in the last 10 minutes, and theres more convection between me and the storm near Sheffield by the looks of it.

    That one hitting Sheffield about now looks immense.

    It looks to me like a lot of the storms are hitting the Pennines and almost recharging, so to speak.
