Me and Ashley Nelis went with the Days Inn as it's only 60 quid at the moment. Pretty much next door to the Holiday Inn so we won't have much hassle on the 12th.
Great thanks. I'll cancel the microtel inn then and hopefully see you at Days Inn. Are you flying from Heathrow on the 1545 BA219?
My original flights that I had in mind went up a good bit so I changed my plan Slightly.
I'll be In NJ visiting family from the 9th , then arriving in Denver 9am local time on the 12th.

K cool , Cheers !

Hey Paul ,booking my flights for tour 4 this week. Planning on flying into Denver a day early, so the 11th. Will probably book into the Holiday Inn for the 11th then too. Unless you've changed where you usually meet ?
-
With Paul making me drool with all the structure shots he has up in the other thread I thought id go back and have a look through my shots from 2012.
Heres a re-edit of a shot... may have overdone it slightly but i don't care lol

Ah so hard to choose!!!
Number 8 - Broken bow, Nebraska ( trying to disregard the bolt as that would look awesome in any storm ! lol )
Number 2 - Coleridge Nebraska
Number 7 - Henrietta Texas
Runner up no 13, having been there and having my shot of that up on my wall i see it everday. Probably would've been my 3rd choice otherwise

Nikon folk are on here but they will agree with me stating the lightning trigger maybe a waste of cash! for nighttim shooting you dont need one and for daytime shooting its a matter of luck!
most have been thrown in the bina s far as i know?
Yeah I guess I did ok in 2012 catching a few nice ones just doing numerous 5" exposures . Even remember this one I caught in 2011 with just a bridge camera on night landscape mode lol.
-
Hey Guys , any Nikon folks here reccomend a lightning trigger?
Have been looking at this one currently http://www.amazon.co.uk/Andoer%C2%AE-Micnova-Motion-Lightning-Trigger/dp/B00S0J8FI2/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1428851440&sr=8-1&keywords=nikon+lightning+trigger

Ah good stuff Chris! , Its looking more likely that i will be going , will know by March , just waiting on college to get back to me about a grant for a possible MSc.
Have my deposit down though on tour 4 since last summer ! haPosted the sale link on an our Irish weather forum and one other guy James Kielty jumped on the offer and is going tour 4 too!
I'd be probably flying my usual route - Dublin - Newark - Denver .... prices hanging aournd the €750 mark .

Hey folks , im currently into doing my final year Maths BSc project on chaos theory .
Considering my broad interest in meteorology im wondering would anyone have any good ideas of some weather examples i can add to it?
Atm i have just been thinking of adding in a short satellite video of the atmosphere's general chaotic motions , a brief examples of computer models and where the chaotic region begins ( FI ) and how it can vary from run to run..
Also im hoping to run some variations of the Lorenz equations too.
Anything else though that i could add ?
Thanks in advance

Hey Guys ! , just wanted to let ya all know that i've been thinking very hard about booking again this year !
Its the idea of learning to drive and getting a car to be able to go anywhere for photography in Ireland thats has me think otherwise.
I will be giving it ALOT of talk over the next week or 2 though!#Stormstarved .

I'm not sure if this is possible. The 06Z GFS is simply the same computers running the same formula as the 0Z or 12Z runs, the only difference is that initial conditions have been updated since the previous run. I'm not sure how that would lead to any kind of directional bias for our part of the globe.
Perhaps Snowballz can shed some light on this, if she is around.
Actually the 06z doesnt include much radiosonde data as the 12z along with some other things. The 12z would have the most input .

Hey guys , i'm just wondering is it possible to give a key code for the perturbations on the ensembles ?
It would be alot easier to jump to the specific charts then.
Cheers ,
Ian

Always shoot in Raw Andy , down the line when you've worked your way around photoshop , you'll be happy to have RAW files to use. For printing photos too , having that extra amount of data in the file will produce a better quality print
