Christ. I’m pretending I didn’t see that ECM run. That’s a real kick in the nethers. Long way to go but that sort of sh** can do one. Hopefully a massive outlier. Time to forget later next week for now, so much excitement before then. Remain calm ???
Yes mate. I’m not even going to focus on that. We have so much to look forward to in the meantime, and do you know what if it did happen at least we would of had the best winter spell in the last 4 years. But I’m greedy after all these years and would really appreciate a blizzard at the end of the week.

Not overly concerned but the met office app showing very little snow for my location (Romford) for Monday - Wednesday. How do these apps get their data as it totally goes against the models? I know these apps are useless in this situation but even so you'd think they'd show a bit more snow than they do.
I’d pay no attention to them mate, they are computer generated with no human input. I felt the same during the 2010 spell, and I got this...?

no mention of my back garden ................. in fact no mention of anyone's back garden !!!
I'm sure they will mention your back garden in their next bulletin BA, when they are 100% confident of you personally receiving a massive dumping of snow....

if the servers are crashing now what going to happen next week!!
They will freeze and no one will be able to help until the Atlantic comes to our rescue and defrosts the servers, the river Thames and the whole of the SE... ?

We’ve been here before with that ‘ECM’. I’ve been on here long enough to know when I wake up in the morning it’s all been watered down.
But with the SSW, and the MO being so bullish, I’m starting to get a bit excited, just really hope the UKMO comes more on board...
Must say though, when I saw that ECM tonight I almost p1ssed a bit ?
I really hope this comes off. The 2009-2012 winters were fantastic for snow in the SE.....LETS get our snow drought over and get buried in the stuff

What a lovely crisp day yesterday. As it’s half term we took the children to adventure island at Southend. It was bloody freezing but in the sunshine and out of the wind it was pleasant enough. Today though.... absolutely awful. Cold, wet and grey, my least favourite combination. To make it worse my eldest wanted to go and play footie over the park!!! We didn’t last long.
im really hoping for a final winter swan song and a big late February freeze, but if not, I’m actually tired of the cold and damp and the potential for snow, which has never materialised in my local.
one good thing I am starting to notice the extending daylight at the end of the day, and I’m thinking in a few months time I can hopefully get the bbq out of hibernation.
BUT one last winter blast and a shed load of snow from the east would really rock my boat!

Lots of hail showers this afternoon. We had one particular shower at dusk which was very heavy and short lived but covered all surfaces, and stuck for a while.
If I can have the real stuff, this comes a very distant 4th, but good to watch as it’s falling.

Well let’s hope for some of the wintry stuff!!
Anyway I had to use public transport today to get to and from work. Normally I drive and listen to a mixture of talk sport and radio 5 live. At the beginning of the week there was an article around the weather and local dialogue explaining it.... Well tonight walking home from the station “My cockles are frozen, and have shrunk” I’m going to put that forward as a SE saying.... :-)

I haven’t posted on here for a long time! But what will be will be. Keep looking at the radars, if it’s white it the morning great, if it’s not there is still plenty of time for this to evolve during the up coming week.

Didn't the ECM backtrack a few weeks ago from an easterly. It's one run, and from what I've seen today / tonight from the other models I'm starting to be a bit hopeful!

Well what an action packed 3 weeks we have had. The SSW happened then we had two weeks of absolutely brilliant model watching. The ups the downs, the toy throwing and the boom charts.
Personally for here the snow hasn’t been on the same level as 2009 & 2010, but I cannot remember ever witnessing such cold weather. The ‘Beast from the East’ brought bitterly winds and ice days.
Today was the first time I can ever remember seeing freezing rain, what an absolute day it was.
To top it all off, we have have this great website, with great people giving great updates and the amateur weather forecasters who in my opinion have done a better job than the pros.
Once the thaw sets in over the weekend I’ll start looking forward to spring and summer and the good family times I’ll have.
But I’m a bit sad that after all the hype it’s finally finishing.
Thanks all, you are all a great bunch of people.
