  1. No chance of frost here tonight. Currently 11C and I doubt it will drop much lower than that.
  2. 18C is perfectly comfortable if you wear a sweater and put slippers on. I'd be seriously questioning my health if I couldn't hack below 20C in all that gear.
  3. I don't need to use my air con to cool. I keep my windows shut on hot days and then have them open all night once the temp has dropped lower than room temp. The hottest my south facing living room saw this year was 22C. It used to hit 30C until I had patio windows installed with that special glass that filters the sun's heat. All my bedrooms are north facing. My bungalow is freezing in winter but cool in summer. It's insulated as much as it can be but it must be down to the suspended wooden floors and the fact that most rooms don't have underlay under the carpet. I'll be replacing all the carpets next year after I've decorated. I just never got round to doing it this year, the garden takes most of my time.
  4. I'm comfortable sitting in a T-shirt at 19C in the summer so 19.5 is perfect for me in the winter with a jumper. As long as my feet are warm my whole body is warm, even at 18.5C
  5. I spoke to my neighbour this morning who said he had to scrape that car at 8am. Most local weather stations were stating 4C lows but I'm about 75m higher than those. I really need to get a weather station rigged up here.
  6. My living room was down to 15C this morning and my bedroom was 13.5C. I'm glad the sun came out and heated most rooms to over 16C. Just put the living room heat pump on and It'll maintain 19.5C for the rest of the evening on tickover drawing 300w
  7. My ideal winter day would be preceded by low pressure from the SW bringing mild wet weather for a couple of days to wash away all the road salt and then a dry day and sunny spells with temps around 10C. This happened in January 2008, perfect conditions for giving the motorcycle a winter blast.
  8. It was 15.6C in my living room this morning. I never bother with heating in a morning. I'm never around for more than 20 min, so not worth it. If it's really cold, I'll stick a halogen heater for the duration on one bar.
  9. It was 17C in my living room and 16C in the hall when I got home today. I just put the heat pump on for 10mins to bang the living room temp up to 20C
  10. Currently 17.8C here in my living room. It can drop to below 10C in here with no heating on in the depths of winter. I've insulated the best I can (loft and cavity wall) but it has a suspended wooden floor and my carpet has no underlay so I think it's losing heat through that. In the summer, even on the hottest days, it rarely reaches more than 23C, and it's south facing. It used to easily hit 30C until I replaced my big window with energy efficiency patio doors.
