    I can'the recall too much of 91, I was only 9, but I do remember we'd had a girl from Africa start at our school a couple of months before. She'd never seen snow and spent about 2 hours gazing out the classroom window

    Just had yellow alert update for snow today and tomorrow. I'm certainly not holding my breath. The snow missed me in every direction last night.

    So now the ground is wet, what is needed for snow to settle on roads and pavements? Dry surface, heavier snow, colder temperature, lower dwe points or all of the above?

    Had 10 minutes of heavy snow, which started to settle on cars, grass and the usual surfaces. Much finer now, and not sticking to roads or pavements

    My phone has been going off every 30 minutes or so with updates on the Met Office app. Currently yellow warnings for snow and ice every day until Wednesday.

    A sprinkling on grass and cars. Nothing on the road or pavements, apart from wet. Let's see what the weekend brings.
