wel i'm off to bed now, see you lot in 'the storm'!
just for the record, i was joking with marie, not 'flirting' - 'other halves' read this forum and things can easily be misinterpreted - choose your words carefully....
regards
rob
Lol Bobbydog we know you were joking.
Think rain is going to be more of an issue rather than the wind for this area.
-
Right what's in store for us tonight then? Not had much chance to catch up until now.
-
Very heavy rain/hail shower just popped up out of nowhere over the Irish Sea. Dog and myself absolutely drenched.

Anyone doing the honours on this thread over the next 24 hours or are people not confident? i have to say im very sceptical of even falling snow here, let alone lying snow.
Not very confident to be honest. Certainly not here anyway. However I'll still be around to see how things pan out. Temp 7c and dewpoint currently 6.4c

Things have been quiet lately LL? Certainly not in Cumbria
Yep quiet here. Tad windy but that's about it.
-
Bit of interest for us on Tuesday regarding the LP system potentially tracking over Northern UK. Something for us to keep an eye on and give us something to discuss especially as things have been so quiet lately.
-
Hahaha- it was good while it lasted, lets hope it's 'far north' soon, as we get that first blast from the north-east
Oi, we're not that bad
-
Hope everybody is having a good Christmas so far!

Happy Christmas!

Just wanted to wish all my fellow North Westerners a very Happy Christmas and hopefully lots of snow in the New Year. :smiliz34:

Ty Lancashire Lass! Looks lovely now! :smiliz19:
No problem. Gotta get our snow fix from somewhere haven't we. :smilz38:

Has everyone got the Christmas skin? Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click 'change theme' then click 'Merry Christmas'

Love it. :smiliz19:

Sure has gone quiet.

With cameras like these sometimes you have to half press the shutter before taking the photo in order for it to focus. You'll usually see a green box appear on the lcd screen which means it's in focus. If not you will see a red box appear on the lcd screen which means it's not in focus.

Its been a horrible day here in Oldham.
Still patchy snow cover, and quite a thick cover on the Pennines
Double figures on Wednesday and Thursday and maybe Friday with nothing wintry all week apart from a possible widespread frost for many Eastern parts of the North West on Friday Night and Christmas Eve
Merry Christmas to you too, fellow Saddleworth resident.
If only we knew, the weather can change so fast. I personally don't think well get long periods of cold weather but it's going to be up and down for sometime, I know well still be getting a northwesterly breeze sometime tonight and Christmas will be a more traditonal English day however mixing everyones predictions the law of sod tells me new years will be a crisp one, hopefully!
I've not put my location on my profile yet but it's Leigh, Wigan.
Welcome

Be careful out there foks, black ice on pavements and roads. Very nasty stuff.
The map sounds a good idea! anyone know how to do it?
Think Backtracks on it
-
Will do.
Will do it when I get home.
Thanks, it'll keep you out of trouble

Good to hear of the snow reports down in this part of the world!
We've had nothing since early Friday morning, nonetheless we've still got a good 2-3cm on the ground.
Over in the Scotland Thread we came up with a map which shows the locations of the members, weather stations and some traffic cams. Could be a good idea for you too!

Also, if anyone has any expertise in computers, perhaps you could have the "Will it Rain Today Radar" ontop of it too.
Thanks AWT. Sounds like Backtrack's cup of tea.
Backtrack, you fancy doing this? No worries if not.

Afternoon. A very sunny, snowless day here. Think I heard hail during the early hours, if there was any snow, it's long gone.

Definitely not a good day for bin collection. Awful morning here.
