these storms tomorrow and Friday are a right pain. Getting ready for my mum's 70th birthday on sat and had organised a marquee. They put it up yesterday but won't come back to take down so now I'm going to have to do it by myself this afternoon, do it when it's dark with help or wait until Thursday when a mate can help in the day and hope it stays in one place tomorrow.

Quite a wild night here. Back of the house faces north and rain has been driven through the door! Heavier bouts of precipitation are turning more wintry last lot was blizzard like. Temp 1.5°C DP -0.7°C

Such a stunning sunset I had to share! Thinking about coming out of summer hibernation. Summer has been a bit disappointing overall this year. Sun and heat has been lacking and only a few distant rumbles of thunder but made the most of the better days. Hopefully still a few decent days/weeks before we get into autumn/winter mode

Just been out to grab the chickens water and can report we have a very very light dusting of snow grains but nothing on radar Currently 0.4°C DP -2.5°C

All rain at the moment but temp is starting to drop. NE Wind has picked up too.

It's so lush! Made a bumper batch last year as there were so many blackberries. It's normally gone by Christmas but found a few bottle I'd hidden

Rain approaching current temp 3.8°C raise of 0.2 in last hour but now seems stable DP 2.8°C. Intensity is a lot more than I thought it would be fingers crossed the transition keeps up and everyone gets a nice surprise. Cracked open the blackberry whisky to herald the start of this cold spell. Good luck over the next week all! soo hope everyone can enjoy some snow

Very light snow falling in Stroud

Morning all. The rainfall over night has been impressive had 19.5mm since about 2am and it's still hammering it down. Current temp 5.2°C and slowly falling. Very doubtful about any snow later if anything think it will be a sleety mix. Hope I'm wrong. Higher up may have a better chance.

Great to see some old and new posters from around here @SilverWolf @chris55 @Adrian Major @noonoo418. Looks like we may get lucky here again. Just hoping places that haven't seen any snow yet get a nice surprise too. We've done quite well really the last month.
