A decent day with sunny intervals. There was a much cooler than of recent low of 12.3°C overnight with a high of 19.7°C today. It's currently 15.1°C and clear.
-
It's currently 18.4°C and mostly cloudy. Today has had sunny spells with a maximum temperature of 20.4°C. It was mostly cloudy overnight with some drizzle, with a low of 16.2°C.
Not too bad of a day, and the warm night should mean that the mean (hilarious, I know) for the month should rise again.
-
It seems that here, August has been much better than July. We've seen lengthy sunny spells on every day but two, unlike the cloud-fest that was mid-July, ABOVE average temperatures (there was a warm spell at the start of the month, but today had a mean around 2C above average) and little rainfall with just 10mm. If there were thunderstorms here it would seem like a more traditional summer month.
June was also decent, with it being sunnier and slightly drier and warmer than average.
-
To be fair, it's not been a bad day, with a high of 21C and sunny spells in the morning. There was one heavy shower but then cloud rolled in and stuck around for the rest of the day. However, it still felt warm.
There was a low all night of 15.6C and tonight looks like having a similar low. 17.3C right now.

Jealous. I hope some of you record some videos!

Any thoughts on next Thursday, anyone?
-
It's raining here in Chesterfield. That's normally a miracle to achieve as well.
-
All of a sudden things have become more interesting here. It looks like we'll have some showers at least.
-
I don't really feel angry now. Just a sense of gloom and despondency about how so many people have seen exciting weather this summer whilst personally experiencing a continuous unwanted diet of boring meh!
I can't really complain, compared to the kind of year that you've had, but every storm (not actual thunderstorms, just thundery showers) has either missed just to the north/west/east/south or if they've actually came here they fizzle out of produce a faint rumble. It's been another poor year.
-
Thunder here.
Well, in the Cholla Springs region on Red Dead Redemption, anyway. A nice, virtual thunderstorm, since real life thunderstorms will not step into Chesterfield.
-
I'm not feeling too positive about this right now. It looks like I'll miss out again, with everything looking like it'll be JUST to my south.
-
There's a light rain shower taking place here. it was brighter earlier, with a high of 19.9°C. However, now it's 16.6°C. There's also a strong, cool breeze.
-
I dont blame you!
I seem to have observed over the last few years the West does very well early on in the season then its the East that steals the show from July onwards. Seems to be the same again this year.
Whilst central areas get nothing? I've not had an overhead storm for around three years. This year it's been a case of distant rumbles.
-
A high of 22ºC today. It's sunny and warm with a refreshing breeze; a perfect summer's day.
-
Around 245mm all year. The grass is looking worse than it did in April.
-
There won't be a lot of rain here, and we desperately need it. We've had 1mm so far today, and will only just about double that as the rain heading for here is weakening. It also looks like a gap has formed in the band as well, and that gap will be over me. If it's going to be cloudy and cool, at least give me rain to look at.
-
We got to a high of 27.2°C, as I predicted. It's now a much more refreshing 19.6°C. It's this cool (subjectively, of course!) due to a thunderstorm passing to our west (no rumbles here though) which seemed to cool things down. The third warmest day of the year.
-
So close yet so far away would be a good way to describe today. Places ten miles away have got multiple storms, whilst I've not had a single rumble.
It's just the way it goes sometimes. Hopefully, Sunday will be my turn.
-
Yep thunder heard
I imagine I'll be hearing thunder soon too. As it passes over Sheffield, due to the shape of the cell it seems like I'll see something.
-
It seems like this cell seems to be growing. It just need to grow a little bit more and then I could hit the jackpot when it gets to Sheffield!
-
It looks like this cell may narrowly avoid me. This seems to be getting beyond a joke now.
-
Just started raining here, sounds like a good storm comeing
Where in the Peak District are you? Do you think it's heading my way?
-
Something has formed to the east of Stoke. If Sheffield get a storm and I don't, I'll be rather annoyed.
-
We will have our turn. The meto are predicting another warm spell in about 10days time we could see something then. I miss the all nighter storms we had in the 90s
Can central areas join in too? We're just as bad as you for storms!
