  1. Sounds promising. Is the cell intensifying then? I want to see if I'll get any hail. We've had none here since early May 2010.
  2. Scarborough has been quite an active place for storms this year. Certainly envied some of the stuff there! France gets everything, I'm sure you'll see quite a few. Once a slow moving cell comes over you though, you're in business. Fingers crossed!
  3. Sorry for stealing your (possible) storm, I'll blow it in your direction next time. Some clouds coming over, although they don't look that thundery. We'll have to wait and see.
  4. I think anyone in Derbyshire can testify that we definitely deserve it. Seems like we've been left out this year.
  5. Thanks for that! That stuff's coming for me after you. If it's still thundery by the time it gets here it'll be the second storm today.
  6. Looks like the Matlock stuff is coming this way. Hopefully it'll be thundery.
  7. It was! It feels very deserved after so many near misses! Something forming over Matlock. Not sure if it's coming this way.
  8. Well, just had a decent (mainly due to the extremely heavy rain, a few rumbles though!) thunderstorm that formed right on top of me so I'm now satisfied and can remove my partial membership. Bye all!
  9. The rain has now eased. A very localised storm that formed directly above my head with torrential rain, yet four miles away in the town centre they had no rain at all. Two flashes, three bangs and I'm a happy camper. Enjoy whoever is in the firing line of my homegrown cell.
  10. Sunny and raining now. :winky: Totally caught me off guard! Saw two flashes and heard three rumbles! Also, the heaviest rain in around three years here. Amazing!
  11. Three rumbles of thunder here and really heavy rain! Brilliant surprise! Seems to have formed over me!
  12. It looks like I'll have nothing again today. Enjoy, everyone else!
  13. It'd be brilliant if as soon as I walk out of the exam, there is distant thunder in the distance, like a reward. Thanks, I'm normally alright at English so I should be fine. I think we should all keep an eye on developments today... you never know! :winky:
  14. I have an English exam later today. If there's a thunderstorm between 12:30 and 14:30, I'll be very annoyed. It would be Sod's Law though that this would happen. Oh well, at least if there's a storm I should hear thunder in the room I'm in... Hopefully.
  15. Well, I did hear thunder today! During a heavy shower, just as it was reaching its latter stages, I heard a rumble to the north east. Still not a proper storm in my book, but it was nice.
  16. The Met Office having none of it here in the East Midlands, and the GFS is showing a very low storm risk here. However, the Met Office mention thundery showers for the West Midlands, Yorkshire and the North West (all regions my location is close to), as well as the Peak District, meaning all hope for Derbyshire is not lost. We'll just have to wait and see.
  17. Certainly looking interesting for tomorrow, although I won't hold my breath for this part of the Midlands. Still, worth to keep an eye out for, and I hope some western areas who have missed out so far get in on the action (e.g. Jane Louise) and then hopefully things can also happen further east out here.
  18. January- 45mm February- 68mm March- 8mm April- 7mm May- 46mm June-0.5mm 2011 Rainfall- 174.5 All of them rounded except for this month. It's been very dry here, though we're not quite in drought conditions. Rain in May (yet slightly below average) helped, but nearly half of that fell during the plume event.
  19. It did that to me at one point too, I just refreshed it and it came back for me. If only we had a climate like France's... Good luck all in the south tonight. Hope to read a few reports of some thunder in the morning.
  20. Not posted here for a while, anyway, just confirming that I still haven't had a proper storm, which is in my book one with heavy rain, quite a few good flashes and rumbles and 30 or more minutes in length. Next week looking interesting though.
  21. Currently 17.8C with a high of 24.4C today- not bad!
  22. Sorry for the late guess, 15.5C please.
  23. Weather: Sunny Temperature: 12.6C Humidity: 68% Dew Point: 6.8C Overnight Rainfall: 0.3mm Overnight Low: 8.1C Looks like a nice day. Hoping to see temperatures rise to around 18C.
  24. Of course, we VERY rarely get past number 2. If we do, we should consider ourselves lucky.
  25. So, another day of disappointment. I think it's gotten to the stage where it becomes hilarious that you haven't seen anything. Of course, most eastern parts have had nothing, but I've came so close on multiple occasions until this town goes into 'SDF' (Storm Defence Mode). Here are the instructions for the employees at this company: 1. Try to change the direction of the storm. 2. If that fails, attempt to make the storm completely fizzle out. 3. If that fails, make the storm lose all electrical activity and just be rain. 4. If, God forbid, a storm gets through, ensure that it lasts for a short amount of time, and that there is no more than two rumbles of thunder! 5. Press the big red button with a 'Self-Destruct' label above it.
