  1. I think the storm advancing northwards near Manchester gives hope to anyone who's unlikely to be hit by that main band. Small storms/heavy showers are forming elsewhere.
  2. Yeah, I noticed that. Nice to here some reports of thunder from Somerset!
  3. I agree with all of this. If I didn't think something may happen, I wouldn't be staying up pretty much all night tonight. :winky: I hope this happens anyway.
  4. I honestly think we may be in for something special tonight (hopefully, including me). I haven't seen this kind of setup since I took an interest in storms (1 or 2 years ago- pathetic, I know :winky:)! Good luck everyone!
  5. What I'm wondering about is how long it can keep this intensity up for. Right now it seems like it will at some point hit me, it just depends whether it can hold out, which will be the difference between me having a thunderstorm and having a shower. I'm hoping it'll still have life in it by the time it gets here, but I doubt it. It also looks like Cheltenham (and Jane Louise) will finally see a storm- congratulations!
  6. How far north should this thing get soon to hit the South West get? I'm only asking because I'm foolishly hopeful it might hit me later on.
  7. I'm hoping this thing to the south of us will hit me. Am I too far north or do I have a chance?
  8. There is nothing better than a good old storm. I'll watch the radar all night tonight, hoping the storms will reach me. If they don't, there's always tomorrow.
  9. Yes, I know, it's just... waiting.  I'm sure we'll all get something. It's just when. The BBC has the storms hitting me overnight.
  10. Is there any chance for me tonight at all? I always thought I had a good chance but reading all of the charts and forecasts don't fill me with confidence, and instead see tomorrow as a much better day. I was looking forward to tonight though, so is there any chance I could see a storm this evening?
  11. I'm starting to get paranoid now. What if I don't see any storms tomorrow? What if I don't see any at all during this spell? Honestly though, I'm unsure. I think I have a chance tomorrow, although my main chance is probably Saturday. Anyone care to elaborate on any of this for me? Bring on the storms!
  12. The excitement is drawing nearer. I'm hopeful for tomorrow, and if anything's coming my way on the radar at some point tomorrow it'll be hard to keep myself calm. Sure, we had a short 15 minute storm in early April that saw two or three flashes, but I want the real deal. Things look good for my area, so you better not disappoint weather, or I will be most displeased.
  13. I may screenshot the ESTOFEX chart. Looks good for me tomorrow, judging by that.
  14. CAPE looks amazing here for Saturday! I'm still not going to be hopeful though, in case of bitter disappointment (and the fact that it's still 5 days away!).
  15. I was just reading this thread (this is off topic), but I just wondered when the 'official' storm season started and when it ends? Thanks.
  16. Good luck everyone! I won't see anything, but that could be a good thing, seeing as I'm going to Alton Towers. I'm always up for a suprise on the way home though... :winky:
  17. No risk here, which for once, I think is good. I'm going to Alton Towers on Friday, and while riding Oblivion during a thunderstorm would be good fun, it would also probably be illegal... Good luck down there though! I hope you get a nice display!
  18. Haha, I'm sure I'll get another chance this year... hopefully. I'll just have to not expect anything, then all will be fine and a nice Supercell will come along.
  19. Okay, sorry, it's just that I built my expectations too high and they came crashing down. I was just a little anxious, from excitement and annoyance. Sorry about this.
  20. I can honestly not see why the Met Office included me in the risk zone for tonight until 11pm. Can anyone explain where these late storms are coming from?
  21. A new Met Office warning for here extending the risk of storms until 11pm... pah!
  22. Yes, but nothing has formed all day here, and we're now after the peak time for developments.
  23. So, it looks like that's today done and dusted. How disappointing, we've had nothing here at all. This really is a rubbish place to be for weather.
