What the hell! It was 2.0c 10 minutes ago, now it's 5.1!!! What on earth's going on?
It's being more like a blummin' trampoleen (sorry can't spell) than a yo-yo
-
sleeting I think, moderatly now, 2.4c.
-
Snizzzzling? Lightly here! 2.5c
-
Temp dropped back to 1.9c now. It's up and down like a yo-yo... I won't use the other simile!
Now it's shot up to 2.5c.
-
Temp rose a bit from 1.7 to 2.1c now.
-
Dry, 2.0c after a dry day.
-
More thunder from a shower passing to the south of me.
-
Shower passed now but still lots of ice on the ground. Feels really thundery outside. I know that sounds strange but it just does. Expecting more thunder as the next shower hits land.
-
Now heavy hail/wet snow,
-
I'm sure I heard a rumble of thunder a few minutes ago. Now moderate hail/graupel.
-
Met office have me down for 6c now with rain. What the hell! It's 0.1c! Something's gone baddly rong me thinks.
-
second air frost of the year now! -0.1c.
-
Cold here with a large drop in temperature. Currently 0.1c, clear with ice. 0.0c now!
-
Very heavy snow here about half an hour ago. About 2 CM of snow on the ground.
Temp 1.0c.
Not bad for the coast!
-
Sorry but someone said that the precip was 50 miles away, was 6 hours away and so was moving at 0.8 MPH? How on earth can 0.8 x6 =50!
LOL!
Well I hope you midlanders get some snow tonight.

Isn't this low the shortwave that was talked about yesterday on the model output thread? I remember someone saying that it could "bring some lively weather to some people".I remember thinking that I should keep an eye on it.
More people on the wales thread reporting frequent lightning.
PS, I wouldn't think the mountains would weaken the convection that much as it's caused by forcing around the low isn't it?
-
I believe that faulce radar readings are called
"anaprop",
though I have probably spelled it rong.
About the precipitation over wales, the best thing about the weather in the NW is the unexpected things that sometimes seem to happen
-
Here in college in Southport we've just had a heavy sleet shower with some big snowflakes mixed in. Still not cold enough for proper snow though
-
So where are these showers then? It's been dry here since yesterday afternoon! how can they keep missing me.
-
Thanks anyway backtrack.
-
Are they current though, or just forecasts for the current time?

My lowest temperature last december was on the night of the 20th at -11.1c, though the Crosby metoffice station fell to -17 so my thermometer may have been reading a little high. I did hear that there was some sort of sea smoke that caused the temperature there to fall that far.
