  1. Breakfast weather was ramping the chances of storms for London area today. Surprised to see no mention of it on here though. It's certainly gone a bit dark in town over the last 15mins or so
  2. Suns out in Central London which makes a nice change from the mirk of the last few hours. Nothing exceptional to report here though. Groundhog day for the last few months. Thoughts with those out West who genuinelly are suffering.
  3. And so begins the internet rumours. Here in Central London its a bit rainy and a bit windy. Much like the previous 3 months :-) Hmm ... was trying to quote the London Underground closure rumour above but am clearly useless!

  5. Fair enough. It was a quick "skim read" as I tried to catch up on todays chat. I just think tomorrow, in our region at least, may just be another grey wet windy winters day. Roll on Spring ....
  6. I love this forum to bits but I have to say sometimes we get ourselves a bit too worked up in here. Talk of putting off travel plans etc tomorrow just feels a bit extreme to me. Yes it will be windy, yes it will be rainy but I have to say I think the world will keep on turning. Pals of mine that arent weather geeks wouldn't even notice any real change tomorrow to the usual clag we've been experiencing lately. Stick to your plans, take caution, keep smiling
  7. Urgh... Thats some read. So the chances of me being able to get up on my 2 story high flat roof this weekend to finally fix that leak again look slim to none. Weekend just gone was perfect weather for it and sods law I was away. I'll try again in June
  8. Incredible squall line an hour back. Never seen anything like it in Bexley before. Was lucky enough to be out in the car and witness it first hand
  9. Strange yellow thing in the sky over London. Any ideas? Sky has gone blue as well. Seems to ring a bell but memory not what it once was
  10. Torrential rain as the train pulled into London Bridge station. 2 mins later and dry as a bone at Waterloo East with partial clear skys. Is that about as localised as weather gets?!?
  11. yup house backs onto woods and the noises are incredible. Crossing everything and hoping for the best. Certainly picked up in last hour
  12. I am amazed they havent made an announcement one way or the other about tonights football match. Even considering this forums ability to ramp (come on now we know it happens ) ) there does seem to be real cause for concern this time round. 60k people, many from the home counties, trying to get home after 10pm can not be a good thing.
  13. Sudden uptick of activity in the City. Can now hear and to a degree (breeze in the office) feel the force of the winds now. That has changed in last 30mins or so.
  14. Just stepped out in the City of London and change from this morning is drastic. Batton down the hatches
  15. Are we expecting Central London to be in the firing line? Wondering if the football tonight will get the go ahead?
  16. Again? We had lightning and hail last Christmas morning here in SE London if my memory serves me correctly
  17. Miserable bunch in the severe weather forum .... They all seem to be trying to pointscore by seeing who can play this down the most. Much for fun in here to ride the pre event enthusiasm no matter what the outcome
  18. Curiosity will ensure I'll have to at least be on the platform for the probably non existent 0638... At least I can say I was there!
  19. Please not another 'London Bridge' Monday morning like the one we had this week! )
  20. Fairly certain I heard thunder in the City at lunch. It was faint and very elevated ... but I'm certain it was thunder none the less. Can I count that?!?!
  21. Pretty special downpours in central London. Shame no sferics to go with them
