  1. Nice sunny morning slowly giving way now to milky skies, and the breeze is slowly increasing.
  2. It’s putting down a decent covering now but looking at the radar I’m guessing this will be the last of the heavy stuff.
  3. Snow falling as showers move in,flakes settling on the wheelie bins and bird table!!!
  4. A lot more snow than I was expecting from some of the forecasts. It’s looking like continuing for a few hours yet as well.I’ve just seen a snow plough going around the estate! IMG_3389.MOV
  5. According to the radar there should be sleet falling from the sky but it’s dry at the moment.
  6. I stopped off at a frozen Bassenthwaite Lake on my way to Penrith yesterday morning. It was very impressive how extensive the ice cover was. This morning the frost seems to be rapidly lifting and already had a few light rain showers! I’m looking forward to see how the the models handle the run up to Christmas, it could be interesting for the NW.
  7. And right over my house!! Shame that those precip charts can’t be trusted. Almost anywhere could receive snowfall at very short notice in that kind of set up.
  8. Lots of flooding on the approaches to Whitehaven and in the town centre, the roadside drains just couldn’t cope with the rain rate.
  9. Is it November already?! What a dark dismal morning. Very heavy rain overnight and again this morning, even got a rogue flash of lightning. Now it’s back to heavy drizzle.
  10. Finally the rain has stopped and now we have clear blue skies after a miserable day yesterday with non stop drizzle from early morning until around 11pm.
  11. The wind has lost its “hairdryer” status in the last 30 minutes. All eyes now on the approaching front. There are a few strikes showing as it approaches the I.O.M.
  12. Thundery looking skies here.Fingers crossed for tomorrow but it seems a very slim chance at the moment.
  13. Skies have that thundery look to them tonight , Im hoping to see something as the front approaches tomorrow.
