  1. Just collected the Mrs from work and it just doesn’t feel cold enough for snow. If it does happen it’ll be interesting taking her to work at 6.30am tomorrow.
  2. Radar showing sleet and snow over me, nothing falling.
  3. BBC weather mentioned a “significant” system moving in on Tuesday moving northwards.Had it pushing right into Scotland. No doubt southward corrections will follow as they catch up.
  4. Feb 1996 , best snow I can remember.Started at 8.00am,by 10.00am schools were closing and at midday we were sent home from Sellafield.I made it home after 4 hrs but many ended up either walking home or stopping in their cars or local sports halls. I was off work for a week. This winter is the closest in recent times where I feel that set up could repeat itself.
  5. Orion looking stunning under frosty skies tonight. Plenty of interest coming up this week.

  7. Looks good for the whole of Cumbria as well for a change. Too far away to get excited yet tho!
  8. Greens and pink already showing up in Ireland from the approaching front. Is this a sign of cold air being further west than thought?
  9. Nice sky tonight. There has been a slow thaw all day but still snow left on the roads.
  10. Yes, a definite NW shift in the last 15 mins.Clouds appearing to the south into what was a clear sky an hour ago!
  11. Got a covering of about an inch here.Quite surprised after yesterday’s drizzle fest!

  14. Precipitation crossing the border now,I’m guessing it’s gonna be a sleety mess by the time it reaches here.
  15. Hi, Feb 1996 was epic. Yes 1ft of level snow and drifts up to 6ft . I was working at Sellafield at the time. Snow started 8.00am on the Monday when I arrived at work.By 10.00 schools were being closed and we got the order to leave site at 12.00. Took me 4 hours to get home. Many didn’t make it who lived further afield and walked home or stopped in local sports centers.was off work the whole week
  16. Does anyone know which model Met Desk ,who make the Snow Radar app get their radar predictions from? Seems quite accurate. Cheers
  17. Can’t see snow right on the Cumbrian coast as shown but who knows at this stage..Either way I can see that we are all in a very good position from a cold perspective as we head into the last days of 2020 and into the New Year
  18. If Monday nights storm was under a yellow warning I dread to think what could happen under an Amber!
