Can't we just nuke that Scandi High !! -
Exactly Rob. I hate snow & cold due to work like yourself and i tolerate it in Winter because it's kind of what you expect. This time of year it's even harder to stomach. The clocks go forward next weekend for christ sake and it's still more like January !!

Unfortunately the way it's looking there is only one thing thats going to get rid of that poxy high stuck over Scandinavia and it begins with S... Summer

I remember yesterday certain posters / rampers saying if ever in doubt stick with the MO update. That was yesterday's very cold and wintry one. Funny how todays update is totally different and has not been mentioned and we are back to the usual overhyped ramps based on own preferences and assumptions.. -

Hopefully be alright. Road surfaces hold heat for longer and as it's been mild recently and the cold coming in so fast they won't cool down fast enough for snow to settle easily on them. It would have to be really heavy snow in a very short space of time to settle on the roads during daylight hours tomorrow. Overnight it would though- 807 replies

UKMO has the low much further South than the GFS. Barely scrapes the coast. More reliable than the GFS. Hope so anyway as i have 80 deliveries to do in Worthing on Monday. Snow? No thanks- 834 replies

I feel it right at this point to direct you to the GFS snow accumulation charts. Which snow nothing at all on the ground.- 774 replies

No mate your not. Cannot and will not ever understand the fascination with people wanting to be cold. Beyond me it really is. -
I don't think i have ever agreed with a post more than this. Spot on in every aspect. I have to get up at 3.30am every weekday morning and drive a van for 10 hours a day doing between 70-100 deliveries. OK i can drive in snow as i have had training but 95% off the general public haven't a clue so it makes it dangerous and a pain in the backside and is a disruption i would rather not have. Where are all the cold & snow lovers when it arrives? Surprise surprise still sat indoors on Netweather forums , nice and warm , probably not worried about the heating costs as most of them are still at school and are living at home so have no costs , blissfully unaware of the implications snow & cold have on people who actually have to earn a living to pay bills. The ' Fun ' of being snowed in as i have seen mentioned a few times is not a situation i can afford to be in. And before smartarses pipe up and say " I work and love snow " , what do you do? Nice warm office job no doubt??. Makes me sick to be honest. Thats why i don't tend to read these forums much anymore as it winds me up too much. I just don't get the mentality of people who would rather have cold weather than warm. Especially now so close to Spring. At least it is nearly Spring and not the start of December. Not long to go until we can wave the worst period of the year goodbye

Anyone know what time roughly the snow will arrive tomorrow?? I'm a delivery driver. Starting work at 3.30am tomorrow to try and get finished and back home safely before it starts causing problems?
-
The thing that often gets people annoyed is when the snow settles on gritted roads. It always will. The grit stops ice from forming so the snow can then be ploughed away. The salt then slowly melts the snow from underneath Why some feel the need to put which quite frankly are ludicrous comments about gritters ruining snow events and not wanting them to clear it baffles me. Don't want food in your cupboards then when deliveries can't get to the shops????

Never ever read the model thread is my advice. 99.9% of the posts and posters are way over sensationalist.

Haha. Well said that man
