    Was at my sons football tournament in Petersfield yesterday , it went on till 8pm and everybody who thought it was going to be lovely and warm were a tad surprised by the actual temperature of 14 degrees feels like 12, between matches kids and parents keeping warm in cars.

    This was April 7th last year, it is snow not frost. A little village just outside Basingstoke, it was minus 2 and bloody freezing

    I was a year old and little did I know it would be the only major cup my team would win in my 46 years on this planet, what a beautiful year.

    Last April was grim, frost every morning, snow a few times. Probably the worst spring I’ve experienced, this year feels a lot different.

    Another day of light to steady rain, worst direction for rain to come from the South it just keeps coming from channel.

    I’m in Edinburgh for the weekend, woke up at 6am hoping to see a blizzard but just slushy mess and it’s now raining. Snow further north. Trying to convince the wife Perth is lovely for a day out.

    Train leaving London 10.30am Friday, though I might just be ahead of the worst winds.

    Is it common for trains to be cancelled due to the wind? Last thinkg I want is to get to London on train and then be told the train to Edinburgh is cancelled, might just drive up.
