  1. Hope your right but like weegaz I will believe it when I see it. Warnings last two days have been way off the mark for most. I see weds warning has gone. Yest they were talking about persistent snow pushing into Northern Ireland weds eve! Maybe it will come back maybe it won't. I'm just going to look out of window from now on. It's just as accurate at mo! Ha ha. Lovely day today mind you.
  2. Well after watching newsline weather Iave a little faith in much snow at all this weekend. Have no idea why met office have weather warnings for snow out. ! Looks like the showers are completely few and very far between if at all. Maybe met know something we don't
  3. Strange when met office giving frequent snow showers?
  4. Is nobody expecting a bit of snow now over the weekend now. I thought the met office warnings looked good for then? Confused. Doesn't look like much more snow tonight. Shame Northern Ireland weather got in wrong by looks of it.
  5. Heavy snow at mo. Not lying yet though
  6. We had back edge snow on the front which has just moved through. Let the fun now begin. Good luck to everybody today and I hope everybody gets a touch which I think they will. Some will get more than others obviously but if we all goet a decent covering the very brief mild air Thursday eve to late fri should thaw it to much. Could stick around as from sat eve up to at least mid week look very cold with more snow chances. Shouldn't thaw it too much that is!
  7. Didn't see it. Take it newsline still indicating very little snow!! What's that about
  8. Mmmmm. Met eireann and bbc newsline going for up to 3 cms! Met office warning and national weather going for 5-10 cms in low lying areas. Northern Ireland weather on facebook even more!! Who will be right. ? Huge difference on estimates! Somebody will look stupid. Will met office change there predictions to fall into line with the lessees totals! O the tension!
  9. Def a bit different than bara best's forecast ronan!!! Good link. Thanks for that
  10. Cheers Daniel. Didn't see that one. Just our local forecast which made the whole projected 5-10cms by the met office look like they were on the "booze" when they issued it!! It was a very strange forecast indeed. Even had the odd bit of rain knocking about!
  11. Just watched bara best on newsline. Unless things have changed considerable since the met office warning that's the most ridiculous forecast Iv ever watched !!! I mean a "RISK" of a few cms on high ground and a chance on low ground. There was hardly even any showers shown on the map!! He's either going to look a complete idiot or a legend! I don't think it will be the former! The 5 day forecast even showed temps of 6 degrees and I think rain or sleet. Ok ! Rant over. I'm just in disbelief to be honest.
  12. Updated warning comes as no surprise. As I said yesterday I thought the estimates were very conservative.
  13. No probs. just had a look over in the east coast of america they are expecting 1-2 feet of snow Monday night in boston!! But I will take what we are expecting. The met office warning of 2-5 cms is very conservative even for low lying areas. This could easily be exceeded locally nearer the time.
  14. Let it snow, let it snow , let snow! Looks good
  15. I remain hopeful for later this afternoon but at the moment the met office warning for snow today is a bit of an over exaggeration to say the least! Frequent snow showers? Looking at radar it's all very spotty and more isolated. Rest of week looks same. Wintry showers snow generally high ground. Rather disappointing I must admit. We havnt even had a cloud in the sky today yet. Unbroken sunshine since I woke up. Don't think warning should have been for all of Northern Ireland but just for NW regions. Though it could change later. Rant over but I hope some of you get better chances than I look like getting. Must nearly be beer o'clock !
  16. your not very positive this weather MS are you? Having more of a moan than I do normally! Lol. Personally I'm with storm force as I think we have a chance of something more wintry during the weeks ahead. I don't care for for sustained cold. Just to see snow fall from the sky will be great.
  17. And much of next week too pomeroysnow. I'm expecting several snow warnings from meto starting from sat and running through during next week also. Very interesting times for us now by looks of it. Didn't look this way 2 days ago! We may even get some troughing during week increasing chances of more prolonged snow!!
  18. Can't even get a decent storm now in this utterly useless winter! Warnings removed for majority of us bar extreme north coast. Saturdays storm must have completely gone bar Scotland. This winter in my eyes is really heading to a par on last winters. Yes all things point to it being colder but so far nout has materialised. So much the same as last year to date apart from a few frosts and odd flurry. Frustrated but not end of world really.
  19. Ronan Winters over again in the model thread according to those posters in the south. Completely different story for us however as it looks like cool/cold zonality will set in after midweek mild blip. So it's a reason to be optimistic. Certainly no deep cold on the horizon but looks like good chances to see some snow. And it should be better than the cool/cold zonality of nov/early dec as sea temps are colder etc etc. so could be a hell of a lot worse for us.
  20. Yep give me mild weather over this rubbish today. Horribly wet drizzly rain.
  21. This weather is a bore fest! We're is this pattern change. Lol
  22. Snow warning removed bar extreme southern counties. Been a very poor effort by met office in relation to this low pressure. Onwards and upwards now
  23. That's a hell of an upgrade! Can we really start to believe!!! Let's hope we are north enough for the snow. Could be few warnings out over Xmas period going by that outlook!
  24. Yes a tad confusing in there and totally southern dominated which is fair enough as in holds the most population. Good call ref popping into scottish thread
  25. Couldn't agree more on that statement MS. Having looked at the models and strat forecast over the last 12 hours I think I'm going to have to eat humble pie. Still don't see anything around Xmas but it's Boxing Day on that is most def catching my eye. Just with a bit of luck we may hit the jackpot. On way or other I think I will be glued to the outputs over the next few days. It really is fascinating. To have the gfs now do a potential flip back to cold this morn beggars belief! It also could get a tad " windy"!
