  1. I know MS. Shame really but not just getting the breaks at mo. Maybe things will change later this avo but I'm not convinced at all. Even Scotland away from hills are not fairing much better currently. We had a bit of sleet earlier but nothing much. Maybe we have a better chance tomorrow eve. Looking ahead going by the pros there seems to be a momentum gathering for an easterly feed after Xmas. East of ireland normally does really well in that set up ref streamers etc so here's hoping.
  2. Has to be said looks pretty poor ref snow prospects away from high ground. Bit of a damp said ref snow from this PM air. Shame really but we just ain't getting the breaks at the mo compared to other years with PM air when we got great snow prospects
  3. Only because the PM is not affecting the south. For us there isn't really that much change. Though looks a bit milder at times next week but certainly not warm!
  4. Snow for where ronan . Hills, just NW or whole Northern Ireland or ireland
  5. What surprises me with the met warnings is that at present they have no snow warnings for Scotland until fri. I would have thought there would be loads of potential of snow from tonight onwards. Maybe they are playing their cards close to their chest at present.
  6. I still can't see any warnings for today or fri MS. They were there this morn. Maybe it's my computer.
  7. Brilliant mountain shadow. In work will have a look later. Thanks for update. With your elevation you could do well. Can u figure out why carryduff down to saintfield village always does quite well with snow. On occasions I have been driving 2 miles the other side of saintfield towards Crossgar and there is nout but from saintfield to the other side of carryduff is snowy. Apart from the elevation and being a bit more inland?
  8. Also warnings for today and fri have been removed so it's obviously a quickly changing tricky forecast to nail down.
  9. Yes ronan totally agree. Can't see much snow for us to be honest but stranger things have happened. As usual the place to be is Scotland. Having said that I wouldn't be surprised to see a snow warning to pop up but wind is the main talking point at the mo.
  10. Yeah I hate predictive text. Pain in backside!
  11. May still be ok for you weegaz. But it will be marginal. Don't machine snow warnings to come out nearer time. More like nowcasting.
  12. Aye pomeroy you have quite a bit of elevation for u to do well out of this. However low lying areas will have to play a waiting game to see what transpires nearer the time. However I firmly believe that anyone in elevation over 80-100 metres might get a few surprises thrown at them. It does not take much for snowfall in these situations just a little ASLEEP and I think this elevation will be the jackpot. Elevation that was not asleep
  13. Looks very stormy from Tuesday to fri for us. Don't think I can ever recall as many warnings for us in one week. Unfortunately it looks like any snow at min just restricted too high ground. But that could change.
  14. Snowing In between carryduff and saintfield county down.
  15. Agree. They are not happy bunnies at the moment to say the least. No beast from the east in the near future for them. Until there is -"winters over"
  16. Don't go onto mod thread this morn to save your sanity! All models have flipped from positive to a nightmare! Winter over again over there after last nights much hype! Even Matt Hugo and Ian F also going for a more westerly regime. For us today I can't really see that much snow to be honest away from the hills. As I stated yest I still think weds may be our best shot and maybe a brief potent motherly next weekend before we go into a more average weather pattern from the west and brief pm flow on occasions up to Xmas. I personally can't see any change in pattern in the near future. But stranger things have happened.
  17. Winter over again on mod thread due to recent runs. U got to laugh. Just starting here.
  18. Let's hope it comes true pomeroysnow ! I'm more interested in weds forecast. It looks a very interesting day to say the least. But will be hopeful for tomorrow
  19. Things look interesting this week!! Weds looks particularly wintry with everything bar the kitchen sink thrown at us. Looks like snow on the way. Great after this run of nothing weather. As long as everybody remains safe of course. And I think next fri through weekend may increase our chances off snow. !
  20. Yes if the south of England was forecast the snow chance that many in the northwest of the uk could get over the next ten days I would say there would be a bit of a mini meltdown on ii. But no storm/snow forecast down there so it's all doom and gloom. They are all still on the phantom easterly chase as they are every year. But it is what it is. And to be honest if they were getting all the snow I would still be happy for them. I just like variations in weather that could affect our little island here in ireland. What will be will be in the end of the day !
  21. It is pomeroysnow according to the ever so positive Frosty! Think he has swallowed a " Winter over already pill" ! The mod thread is strange every day. Some folk say snow on the way and others say mild for the next ten years! It's comedy value at times. Not much mentioned on this storm yet? Back to today it's freezing and when I picked the wee girl up from school there was a heavy sleet shower. Next week may throw up a few surprises.
  22. Good call bftv. Sounds like it could be quite similar precipitation wise to a couple of years ago, When the east of Northern Ireland and east of ireland as a whole got most of the snow. While the west was drier but cold. I will take that.
  23. Mod thread still chasing the phantom easterly! 2-3 months waiting for it for 1 week of cold weather. !! Unreal. Give me PM air anytime. Much better chance to see the white stuff. Having saying that this weather is boring at the mo and no nice charts to look at, at all. I fear another winter similar to last year I'm afraid. USA to get it all again I'm afraid. Hope I'm wrong though
  24. Where is the good weather !!! Been lashing down here for two hrs now!! Shocking.
  25. Personally and it's only a personal opinion but nobody can argue that this forecast doesnt change with the wind. How can u call a forecast accurate or professional if its a complete reversal of what it said 24hrs beforehand! Yes I know the weather changes but surely to god a 'professional organisation' with all there data and computers could muster a better forecast than the two given over the last 24hrs! Here's my forecast; NW to remain unsettled, cool and windy, England and Wales to remain warm settled and sunny! O hang on England and Wales to be unsettled, cool and windy, NW to remain warm settled and sunny!! O hang on Maybe if I stick my neck out England and Wales may be somewhere in between the above so warm settled and sunny with occasional spells of cool, unsettled and windy weather and the NW unsettled cool and windy but with lovely warm and sunny interludes! There u go all done and analysed in the space of 5 mins without all that glorious equipment and expertise in the met office!
